I was supposed to go on a first date this week, but got ghosted/stood up, so the first thing I’d say is to actually show up!🤣

Hi there! It’s incredibly frustrating to be ghosted or stood up, especially when you’re looking forward to a first date. Showing up and being present is so important in building trust and connection. Don't let this discourage you-there are plenty of people out there who will appreciate and value your time. Keep your head up!😍

Thanks for your kind words! It’s the second time it’s happened to me, so I’m handling it a lot better than the first. Trying my best not to be all cynical. Onto the next. 😅

I find a first date should be meeting for a coffe or drink. This way if you dont click you can make it short. if you feel a connection, plan another meeting or go further with the date,

Hi! That’s a great approach! Meeting for a coffee or drink keeps things low-pressure and flexible. ☕It’s a perfect way to see if there’s a connection. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!😍

A very timely topic. Primary goal is to find Mr. Right but secondary goals are just as important and they include to have fun/excitement, to learn about myself more and to practice curiosity. The biggest insight for me was Reno's observation that even if you think the world of your date, if he doesn't love you back with close to the same level of interest, it is simply not a Match and you need to let it go. Wish me luck for a first date this Saturday with someone for whom I have very high hopes.

I just now learned of my fathers death. He was 86 and I am 65. He only answered and spoke with me by phone 3 times in my life only because He thought the calls were from someone else. He never called me even once in my life and although I long ago let go of any hard feelings or expectations , I suddenly realize that I truly will never get that call that the little boy in me still would love to have received. 😢😊

Great episode! I’m in a frustrating spot with post first dates feeling like I’m the only committed one. These are successful first dates by the way, if some of the guys lied to my face. In one case a guy was honest with me that due to recent events he is not maybe open for a relationship at the moment. So that i can respect, you can set expectations correctly. But then there’s guys that want you to chase them. I’m autistic and frankly have no interest in playing games. But they guilt trip you every time you haven’t reached out for awhile. Even though every time you reach out they’re not available etc. or they claim they aren’t at least. so like after awhile you lose interest naturally and then reaching out going “what happened with” guilt tripping when you’ve started moving on. Have blamed myself and maybe thought it was the autistic thing and there having been misunderstandings.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for your kind words about the episode! It’s really tough dealing with mixed signals, especially when you're genuinely looking for a committed relationship. It's great that you can respect honesty, but it's understandable to feel frustrated with game-playing. Your feelings are valid, and it's important to stay true to yourself. Wishing you the best on your journey!🥰
