Fear of Intimacy: Overcoming Your Fear Of Getting Close

Today, we are unpacking a seldom-discussed, but deeply relevant issue within the gay community: Fear of Intimacy.
Many men grapple with the challenge of opening up emotionally and forging meaningful connections. Often, we find ourselves settling for superficial encounters while yearning for something more meaningful.
Today we’re discussing how the same emotional walls that protect us from getting hurt can also leave us feeling isolated and lonely.

❤ Signs of having a fear of intimacy
❤ Why we fear the thing we want
❤ Social conditioning
❤ The impact of past relationship traumas

I’ve definitely grown so much in this area, and even though I know no one can be perfect for it, I know that I’m very strong doing this. I’m usually honest, I need to share my feelings otherwise I have a tornado in my head. However it is frustrating when other people don’t reciprocate. Very insightful, guys, good vibes!

I believe I have an emotional attachment style, and so I don't think the subject matter of this discussion is much of an issue for me. However, I have a fear of physical intimacy, probably because of a lack ability to achieve orgasm with another guy. This might unfortunately lead to a fear of rejection by whoever I may have been with at the time.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's important to understand and acknowledge your feelings around physical intimacy. This fear of rejection is valid and can be challenging to navigate. Your honesty is a great step towards finding what works best for you.💕

‏‪42:15‬‏ You want people to reassure you they are not gonna leave? So dangerous man. You know that there is huge chance they will leave eventually... Why you do that to yourself

Hello! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Seeking reassurance comes from a need for emotional security. While there are no guarantees, discussing fears openly can lead to deeper understanding and stronger connections. It's about balancing and coping with uncertainties. We do appreciate your perspective!

Intimacy is another perk of being pretty. We ugly folks never have to agonize over half the crap you guys do. We don't have mirrors in our bedrooms, worrying about how we look from different angles. We don't obsess over sharing our feelings. We don't have to worry about intimacy, either. It's kinda hard to empathize with this. Poor you, I guess.
