@@luissuarez2333 To become a fool in Christ is not to become without intelligence or lack sense. The bible urges us to be as shrewd as serpents and as harmless as doves. What he means is that the wisdom of God seems like foolishness to man, and that the wisdom of God is foolishness. To go all out and give everything to Jesus will naturally lead to decisions that seem crazy to the rest of the carnal world (e.g, selling all your possessions and becoming a missionary, risking imprisonment to seek the gospel, donating money to Christ centered organizations).

same here, i've been very disappointed in myself at multiple times, but learning alot. it took 10 years for some prayers to be answered, i thought God forgot, or maybe it wasn't important. some prayers still no answers but what i've gotten from my actually earnest attempts to know God have never left me. many times in my life i'm not earnest, probably the worst times in my life even when i was relatively successful in the world at those times. never lose sight of the fact that prayer and Scripture reading is meant to be an actual conversation between you and God, like Moses in the tent of meeting.

It is insights

In other words, God heals those who come to him. Those who come to Him are those who admitted they're sick and needed help. God doesn't heal us immediately but needs our consent because He doesn't want to force us.

"Only God NEVER fails to achieve his intended righteous goal", reminds me of a quote with similar truth from Star Trek: TNG, "it is possible, Mr. Data, to make all the right choices and still lose the game" And that's freeing. It will drive a man mad to think God is against him if he assumes his failure in a plan is a sign of God's displeasure And the portion of the sermon on pursuit of wisdom, including wisdom in peering into the intricacies of God's creation? That one validated a love I've had for biology and engineering that I often felt was looked down upon in "churchy" groups that despised any book written besides the Bible.

And loving Jesus and people

Thank you pastor John for the powerful message. Here is my little thoughts about wisdom. It's an application in our personal and corporate life. Wisdom means two words, ,Yes or No. Shalom.

At James 3 v 17 it tells us "The wisdom from above is peaceable" Divine wisdom requires that we be peaceable. This involves our avoiding aggressiveness, a belligerent attitude, or actions that would disrupt peace. James expands on this point when he says; "The fruit of righteousness has its seed sown under peaceful conditions for those who are making peace" (James 3 v 18) Notice the expression "making peace." In our place of worship are we known as peacemakers, or are we known to be peacebreakers? Do we frequently have differences or disagreements with others, being easily offended or offending others? Do we insist that others accept us as we are, or do we humbly work hard to eliminate personality traits that others might rightly find offensive? Are we known to go out of our way to promote peace, being quick to forgive, and putting errors behind us? Honest self examination can help us to see if we need to improve in displaying divine wisdom in this regard.

Rich Rioux Jesus was not saying that praying in public is wrong. He was saying that the hearts of the Jewish priestly class were wrong. They prayed because they loved themselves and their vanity rather than loving God and His righteousness. It was the prayers of the Christians being led to the slaughter in the Colosseum in front of tens of thousands that moved the hearts of Rome to sympathy for the small band of followers of Jesus Christ.

David Feigelson Jesus Christ never prayed in public and Jesus Christ set an example of how a follower of Him should follow. John Piper and others like the pope are like head Pharisees who prayed in public. Jesus Christ even instructed us how to pray in Matthew chapter 6 as well as other things. I obey God rather then man. John Piper is a man who follows the teachings of a sinfull man John Calvin called calvinism. John Calvin was trained up in the pagan roman Catholic church teachings who followed the pope at for a big part of John Calvin's life, then later John Calvin went aginist the Roman Catholic Church and renounce Roman Catholic Church amd the pope and then twisted some of the roman Catholic church teaching into the false teaching of Calvinism.

Jesus paid the price for our sins so we wouldn’t have to! So trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Also repent so you don’t perish!!

The preacher is not 100% about wisdom. He said wisdom will make you happy always but that's not the case when you have conversations with people and they talk foolishness consistently. But yes you also can have happiness. Wisdom is hard to find. It's hard to find because it's precious. People wants to win the lottery, wisdom is by far superior than winning any get deal of money.

Is he counting logic as a branch of factual knowledge? I regarded logic, observation and domain knowledge as my main tools and the hardest jobs needed all of them.

That human wisdom. He did all the forbidden things a King should not do : having too many gold, horses, wives, and drink wine, and marry foreign women. He admitted in Ecclesiastes that God took away his ability to enjoy things. Wisdom of God is different, who have it find life, who hate it love death. Because God set Him up from everlasting. He is Jesus, by the way.

I believe you’re right that God at times conceals himself: Jesus deliberately spoke in parables and thus confused people (“I am the bread you should eat”, “I will destroy the temple and rebuild it in 3 days) Just like a parent hides himself from His kid so the kid can find Him. And oh the joy between father and child when the child has found his father! In the same way God hides. Not to be hidden, but to be sought and found!

Yes it is interesting that in the gospels accounts we read that he conceals his identity to many others it remains hidden. This is still the case today. Youll have read for yourself and deduce the reasons. They are there.

See, there's a reason you feel like God is "concealing Himself". And the reason is that you, right now, have a heart of stone in your spirit. If when you go outside, and you see the trees, the birds, the sun, the leaves, the wind, if when you experience those things, you don't see God in them, then you're blind. Psalms 19:1 tells us that " The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." So creation is constantly testifying about the Creator. It is right in front of us all the time. The problem is something happened to us humans. We fell. We sinned. And when that happened, our capacity to perceive and see things was corrupted. So when I say you have a heart of stone, I mean that this is just the natural state of everyone who is born. The whole of humanity is condemned to that. We're all broken and blind to spiritual realities. So something must be done. That problem needs a solution. But how could we, as humans, figure out our own solution? We can't. That is why God Himself came to the Earth in the form of a man (Jesus of Nazareth). But that, by itself, was not the solution. John 3:18-20 says: 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. Focus on verse 19. Jesus was THE LIGHT. The Light we needed to stop being blind. Why didn't we go to Him? Why didn't we belived in Him? The verse says "men loved darness rather than light". Our problem is not simply that we are apart from God. The problem is that we do not want to be with Him. We are the problem. It is not that God is actually hiding Himself so that we won't find Him. It is that there's not a signle fiber in our bones that desires God for who He is. That's why Jesus had to die. That's why he was crucified. He took the punishment meant for us, beacuse of our sins, and die in our behalf. And when we repent of our sins and trust completely in God's redemptive work at the Cross, the miracle of the new birth happens. Ezekiel 36 happens to us 24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And when that happens, we become new creatures. We see things in a whole new way. God will never be "hidden" from us now because He actually livs inside us through His Holy Spirit. God created the earth at least 4 millions years ago, where did human kind get wisdom before there was a bible , when mankind didn't even have a written language?

Dennis Caeton the world is not that old if we go by our biblical age. A question I wrestled with. I gradually understand that the concept of time as we know, is not necessarily true. God can have made everything in a moments or strectched time to billions of years. Or again, made everything compact including time.

Wow, what a mess this teaching is. the Bible definitely warns Against reading outside of scripture. Psalm 1:1 Don’t walk in the counsel of the ungodly! You will never hear truth from men in pulpits. Satan runs that show.
