Jesus said to the thief you will be with me in paradise. But when did He say the thief would be with Him? He did not say that day. He did not go to heaven until Sunday morning. He just said I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise. There were no comma's originally. So many people who believe you go to heaven at death will put the comma in the wrong place. The Bible nowhere says that the dead go to heaven at death.

This is typical christian oversimplification. A beautiful woman is a person with a beautiful soul and/or a beautiful body. This depends on the definition of beauty. But there is no way out of the fact, that the first impression of a person is a visual one, taking only milliseconds, scientifically proven. The eyes are very important there too, accepted. But it's not only the eyes. To find the beauty of a soul it takes much more, time, learning to know someone, having hard times and survive them. It is one of the most damaging denials, but by far not the the only one, churches put on their followers.This leads to an ill relation to bodies, followed by the regular appearance of crooked pedophiles and other sexually disoriented people in the church service and very often under the protection of churches. Including the knowledge of the superiors about incidents. This was said under the pretense "beautiful women". But it as valid for "beatiful men". Strangely, hardly anybody talks about women looking at men and desiring them. "oh, he is so cute." "I wouldn't mind ....." etc., keep your ears open and you will hear it. The church will never overcome biology, it only cripples souls trying to overcome biology.

Pay attention to verse 4 of Galations 5. Anyone trying to utilize law of pagans to attack you when you are following Christ? Stand Firm in the Lord and follow Christ. Those who fall under such persecution must question their faith and those who remain faithful in following Christ will have their faith strengthened when one sees how Christ gives wisdom and acts in whatever He is allowing for His glory.

Premillennialism is contradictory to Ps 110:1 as referred to in 1 Cor 15:25. According to Ps 110:1, Christ sits at the Father's right hand in heaven “until” all enemies have been “put under his feet” (i.e., made his footstool). Premillennialism would have Christ leaving heaven 1000 years before he has put “all enemies under his feet.” It would then have Christ reign on earth for 1000 years but then face a massive Satanic uprising against Christ and his people at the end of the thousand years. Christ's enemies, including death, would only be overcome (i.e., “put under his feet”) at the end of the “millennium.”

Very helpful teaching. John Piper is right that the situations of Timothy and Titus being circumcised were completely different. Timothy's circumcision had nothing to do with salvation. It just had to do with allowing doors to be opened by reducing the suspicion of non-Christian Jews towards Timothy and Paul. But the pressure on Titus to be circumcised was because those exerting the pressure were saying that this was the way for Titus to be saved. So Paul had to stand firm against that.

What's the problem with this? Gal 5:2 implies that if people seek to be justified by things like circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to them. So, from the standpoint of someone who is seeking to be justified by circumcision, they are in effect cancelling the blessing of Christ that is available for them.

@@maxaplin4204 It just contradicts other passages. I think the Bible needs to be done as an exegesic study. There is only one unforgivable sin, and that is blasphemy. Obviously life is a blessing, and God blessed everyone with that. I'm not a big proponent of John Piper. That title just threw me, more than the actual sermon. I may have spoken too soon, without delving enough into it.

@@gaylechristensen6285 You are right that the Bible needs to be analysed exegetically, not eisegetically. But I didn't see hear any eisegesis from Piper in this podcast. He isn't saying anything about unforgivable sins. He is just saying that someone who tries to be saved by circumcision is in effect cancelling the offer of salvation. People could repent of this and be forgiven. And actually, the unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit specifically, not all blasphemy (Mark 3:28-29). I think you are taking his words a bit too literally. When he says 'every blessing', he is using 'every' a bit hyperbolically. He means every blessing to do with salvation in Christ. The Bible itself often uses words like 'every' and 'all' hyperbolically.

This teaching feels a bit off 🤔 1. There is a difference in wealth, riches, money, greed, being prosperous and highlighting the gospel just for it prosperous advantage. 2. What bible is he reading from? 1 Timothy 6:10 does not conclude with that suicidal bit it appears he is reading. 3. The bible has a lot to say about the blessing of wealth when stewarted appropriately. 4. We all are growing in our walk and knowledge of an eternal and holy God. Sometimes we're off on our interpretation

Pay attention to verse 4 of Galations 5. Anyone trying to utilize law of pagans to attack you when you are following Christ? Stand Firm in the Lord and follow Christ. Those who fall under such persecution must question their faith and those who remain faithful in following Christ will have their faith strengthened when one sees how Christ gives wisdom and acts in whatever He is allowing for His glory.
Premillennialism is contradictory to Ps 110:1 as referred to in 1 Cor 15:25. According to Ps 110:1, Christ sits at the Father's right hand in heaven “until” all enemies have been “put under his feet” (i.e., made his footstool). Premillennialism would have Christ leaving heaven 1000 years before he has put “all enemies under his feet.” It would then have Christ reign on earth for 1000 years but then face a massive Satanic uprising against Christ and his people at the end of the thousand years. Christ's enemies, including death, would only be overcome (i.e., “put under his feet”) at the end of the “millennium.”

Very helpful teaching. John Piper is right that the situations of Timothy and Titus being circumcised were completely different. Timothy's circumcision had nothing to do with salvation. It just had to do with allowing doors to be opened by reducing the suspicion of non-Christian Jews towards Timothy and Paul. But the pressure on Titus to be circumcised was because those exerting the pressure were saying that this was the way for Titus to be saved. So Paul had to stand firm against that.
What?? How to cancel every Blessing of Christ? Really.
What's the problem with this? Gal 5:2 implies that if people seek to be justified by things like circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to them. So, from the standpoint of someone who is seeking to be justified by circumcision, they are in effect cancelling the blessing of Christ that is available for them.
@@maxaplin4204 It just contradicts other passages. I think the Bible needs to be done as an exegesic study. There is only one unforgivable sin, and that is blasphemy. Obviously life is a blessing, and God blessed everyone with that. I'm not a big proponent of John Piper. That title just threw me, more than the actual sermon. I may have spoken too soon, without delving enough into it.
@@gaylechristensen6285 You are right that the Bible needs to be analysed exegetically, not eisegetically. But I didn't see hear any eisegesis from Piper in this podcast. He isn't saying anything about unforgivable sins. He is just saying that someone who tries to be saved by circumcision is in effect cancelling the offer of salvation. People could repent of this and be forgiven. And actually, the unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit specifically, not all blasphemy (Mark 3:28-29). I think you are taking his words a bit too literally. When he says 'every blessing', he is using 'every' a bit hyperbolically. He means every blessing to do with salvation in Christ. The Bible itself often uses words like 'every' and 'all' hyperbolically.

This teaching feels a bit off 🤔 1. There is a difference in wealth, riches, money, greed, being prosperous and highlighting the gospel just for it prosperous advantage. 2. What bible is he reading from? 1 Timothy 6:10 does not conclude with that suicidal bit it appears he is reading. 3. The bible has a lot to say about the blessing of wealth when stewarted appropriately. 4. We all are growing in our walk and knowledge of an eternal and holy God.
