HOW TO GET BUTTERFLIES TO LAY EGGS IN CAPTIVITY
If you ever wanted to breed butterflies or document the life cycle, it's got to start with getting eggs! That can be challenging especially when you are trying to raise tiny butterflies like blues, hairstreaks and skippers. Well, in this video, I am going to bring my 25 years of experience in raising butterflies and moths and show you a few tips on how to get your small butterflies to lay eggs in captivity. We have some good success with these tiny fulvous hairstreaks that we found (Electrostrymon angelia) and we want to share the secrets with you.

tysm for the tutorial
I want to raise blues so bad but they only live a day for me. Coppers seem to do better.
Hi. I currently have 6 adult Favonius saphirinus in South Korea(raised from overwintering egg) and I want to get them to mate and lay eggs in captivity because they emerged a bit too early compared to natural occurrence. There are 3 of each sex and these are hairstreaks that lay their eggs on oak stems and buds. Do you have any tips for letting them mate indoors? Thanks, I really find your videos helpful.
Will this work with polygonias?
