This video is exactly what I needed right now. We had family in town this weekend and my eating was ALL over the place. I tried to stay positive but ended up having a breakdown on Sunday night because I had eaten so terribly all weekend and felt SO guilty and disappointed in myself. Thank you thank you for talking about balance and allowing yourself a break every now and then. You are a light!
I havent worked out in 3 months and I'm starting back tomorrow, thank you for posting this video because I've been feeling really bad lately about not working out but I needed that break for my mentality and your advice has also shifted my mindset, so thank you for posting this its helping me evolve!!💕

I know I’m a little late to the party, but, I watched this video a few days ago and I felt an instant weight lift off my shoulders. For so long I’ve tried to be “perfect” with counting calories. This video showed me that my body NEEDS the break. It helped me to release all of my unnecessary guilt. THANK YOU for this video, it’s exactly what I needed to hear. I’ve been following you for years and admire your journey and your sound advice when embarking on a fitness journey. I took the opportunity in quarantine to do your home guides and I’ve become SO much stronger. I’m inspired to keep pushing and I feel as though something has finally clicked in my brain and I’m in this health journey for life! Thank you again for your workouts, your advice and inspiration, and your Bloom products. I love and appreciate it all!

Mari, you are so insightful and genuine! I especially love that you're reminding us to be gentle to our bodies and not beat ourselves up for being human which is honestly something I can never hear enough. I know I've been gone from the gym for too long as I can feel my body itching to get back at it but now I'm sick and it's discouraging to me bc I have to take more time off to let my body recover and heal, and I'm trying not to get in my head about it. Yet after watching this and listening to you speak from the heart I know it's not the end of the world and I will get there and make progress back when it's time! And actually you got me in the feels when you reminded me that I do belong in the gym even though I'm not a professional bodybuilder... I'm allowed to be there!! 😭😭😭💞 I'm not less than for not having a perfect body and I'm allowed to take up space and work on a better me. Thank you for being a shining example of patience and attainability. You are wonderful, and I honestly have so much love for you both.

I was literally in tears when I heard you say that a bad week doesn’t ruin your progress. I just started cutting again and I always have one week that’s just terrible around the time that I’m ovulating. I already knew that a couple of bad days doesn’t ruin your cut but it just made me feel so much better hearing you say it and explain why it doesn’t ruin your progress ❤️

I just want to Oregon to visit my friend over last few days. I allowed myself to eat food I wanted since I was on vacation while still making a few easy swaps a few times so I was still getting nutrients while indulging. We also did a lot of hiking and walking around town to places we wanted to eat and drink at. I got back yesterday so today I woke up and heading to the gym to get back into my routine! 💪🏻 ☺️

Perfectly timed! I got back from vacation last night, immediately stepped on the scale and gained 10lbs in 3 days. Didn't really freak out cause I knew it wasn't fat but still was a mind f*Ck. lol Thanks for the great content!

Hey Mari! Love from India! I currently have my exams and in unable to go to the gym (although I'm eating healthy) and also right after exams, I have my vacation planned for 10 whole days. So the entire period of exams plus vacation is going to be a the longest break ever in my fitness journey. I'm kind of nervous I'll ruin my entire progress so far

Thank you for your video. Kind of kicking myself for the two pounds I gained but Ive had a lot of sugar over the last 2 weeks. I probably gained nothing. I am still working out. Good to find new tastes. Loved some of the meals like piri piri chicken and vegetarian curry. Love the spices. Taste changes sometimes. It will make my plan easy to stick to preparing for competition. Its in October. Hopefully.

I’ve been on a month long break because of working 60 hours a week + doing summer classes. About to move into a new apartment with my boyfriend and there’s an AMAZING gym. So I’m excited to get back on track!!! Can you please share another workout clothing haul? Like good lulus that are high waisted? Lol

How do you recover if after indulging you feel upset of the stomach. What is the proper way to indulge without hurting your gut.

Hi Mari ! So I moved from my country and went to sydney 6 months ago and I was so sad I left my friends and basically food was my only friend at this point. I was never addicted to food, I was always in a good shape because I was doing ALOT of cardio back home and I ate whatever I wanted because I wasn't gaining weight anyway. So when I moved I stopped working out and I ate even more than what I ate back home and didn't think I would gain weight (because I never had). Anyway, obviously I did gain weight, I gained 7 kilos and I am so mad at myself and I don't know if I am gonna be able to get back can you tell me what to do please? I am sorry it was a long paragraph.

Hi I have some nutrition questions, you talk about g per lb of protein in your videos. Is there a cap to that? I’m at 220 starting my journey and I can’t get MyFitnessPal to go that high without totally losing carbs when keeping fats over 30g. 🤦🏻♀️ Another nutrition question on your EAAs, are they different from other protein? Most protein we eat is made of essential amino acids. That’s why in nutrition we talk about incomplete and complete proteins. (Quinoa is a complete protein, it has all 9 essential amino acids!) Are the EAAs there to supplement other forms of protein to create complete proteins?

I have a question for your next q&A segment. I've been wight lifting for about 6 months. I do about 20 minutes 5 days per week. I never feel really sore after a workout. I do full body every day. Should I be pushing it harder and introduce splits? Should I be sore at least 1, 2 days even? I am seeing results. Down 27 lbs in 6 months. 52 year old female, probably was 35 lbs overweight.

Your muscles need 2-3 days to recover and to get stronger. Your muscles grow during the rest days, so give your body a chance to repair and build muscle. You could do 3 full body workouts a week, 2 upper + 2 lower body days, or 5 days with some other combination. Give each muscle group 2-3 days to rest. You can get stronger faster with less pain and less chance of injury. Great work & results! Congrats!

Hi Mari! I love watching your videos.. you’re very inspiring ❤️ I’ve been working out, lifting weights and trying to eat 1100- 1200 calories a day to lose weight (because I’m only 4”11) but I’m still not losing weight 😭 it’s been 2 months already and I’m still overweight 😢 Please help 😞

Nicole Lee when you lift weights you will gain muscle which weighs more than fat so I recommend to focus more on body measurements and what you see in the mirror and how you feel . I also recommend eating more whole foods and cut down on sugar , salt and oils and don’t drink your calories unless it’s a healthy protein packed nutritious smoothie. Hope that helps :)
