    Bro been doing concrete for 25 years in Cincinnati area. People are calling me off hook for pool decks. So I am very interested in your pool school. I've just went into business for myself. The small company I worked for, I pretty much ran the pour crew. Boss and his son would do all inside forming using step Meyer cantilevered forms. So I need learn all I can about that phase of pool decks. So information about the pool school don't really want learn how build a pool but just inside forming . This video was step in right direction, thanks!

    How do you bend the forms around tight curves without the thinner top edge of the form misshaping and leaning?

    Cantilevered means overhanging or protruding. Unless this pool has some sort of odd angled setback, it looks nothing like traditional cantlivered coping

    Jason so pouring concrete deck over top the gunite bond beam and up to the form attached to the tile.. I understand there needs to be a separation of the deck and the top of the gunite shell so when the deck moves it doesn’t take the tile with it? How is this accomplished? Thank you hope to hear back from you

    @MRBOBCATKING It can be finished with or without the lip, depending on whether you pour the concrete to the tip top of the form or leave it down a fraction of an inch. Both ways are fine, as long as it's consistent throughout the entire pour.

    So there was not a preliminary pour to lock in with the RHino Bars you provide with the Pool. Everything was done in one pour to do the cantilevered pool coping and rhino bars ? Man I got the pool from his son tell me make sure to pack push concrete into against the form . And do the tapping with hammer on outside to not get the honeycomb imperfections in the edge .

    Why didn't you use a plum strip around the top of the pool that goes on before the cantilever coping?

    We use bluestone. Because it's angular it allows more cream to come to the surface of the form.

    You should form half an inch below the highest point or more and take that same level around the pool.. if you are only doing coping and everything else is still in tact, like tile or plaster it's going to be tricky, if you are getting pool re tiled, plastered then the best way is to use a green or brown bender board, vinyl or plastic coated so the forms adhesive bonds better to clean plastic over wood , again go a half inch to maybe the full 1 inch and take that level all the way around , once that is level it will serve as a guide for the foam cantilevered forms, it is ok to pour thinner concrete in the area where pool is out of level

    Our Latham dealer says that our pool doesn’t come with flexible forms to pour concrete. Where do we get these?

  • @hughesjasonc
    @hughesjasonc13 жыл бұрын

    @kelleyslaughter We strip the forms the next day, some folks strip as soon as concrete begins to set while still green and finish the coping edge then. To remove, twist the end of the tie until it breaks off, after removing all the ties pull the form away from the concrete. Ladder can be installed day after concrete.....assuming you've installed the anchor. Good luck!

    You can't finish concrete the next day if it's already set up unless you plan on resurfacing it after u pull the forms

  • @hughesjasonc

    The pool was a 12.x26. Can't recall how many yards but it was likely 5 or 6. You can calculate cubic yards by dividing the sq ft by 81 for a 4" thick slab. Hope this helps:)

    @@hughesjasonc I know this is an old video but I have a problem with my pool where the original owner used the same patio stones as the pool to do the pool edging or border. As a result, we have sand seep into the pool along with ants. I would like this type of border. How much would the job you did cost today? Thanks so much for the great video by the way.

    I see the bond beam does not look 1 foot thick around fiberglass? Do you guys now recomend the 1 foot thick bond beam to be encorperated with the cantilever coping or should it be poured in 2 shots?
