Why do I have white flakes in my new fiberglass saltwater pool?

We had a fiberglass pool refinished with gel coat paint with a specialized pool company. We have this chalky blue paint staining us when we brush against the pool. And particles are now mixed into the water. What can we do to fix this? Worrying it is carcinogenic for my kids.

I live in Miami, hurricanes or violent storms always come through during the season. I’m frequently evacuated from my home for approximately one week. What should I be adding to a fiberglass spool so I don’t come back to green water?

Good question Jackie! Are you having to shut off power to your home before evacuating? If so, it may be tough to combat the potential for algae because of your climate. Otherwise, it's probably best to shock your pool just before you leave and let the filter to continue running. Without filtration/circulation, chemicals can't really perform their job. Thanks for watching!
