    I’ve had bad posture and neck hump since I was a child. My upper back always hurts when I try to sit/stand straight, so it feels like I can never “fix” my posture that way. I just watched all three videos and tried the exercises. They feel amazing! Can’t wait to see how my back improves in a few weeks. Thank you!! 🤗🤗

    Dr. Jon, just two days I pulled my long hair off my neck due to the hot weather and I noticed a slight bump at this very area in my neck. I've always had good posture so this concerned me. Then out of nowhere (LOL) this series of videos came up on YT. Things like that happen to me regularly, so it's not that weird. I am going to try these exercises because I want to keep my good posture good and these are very doable. Thank you. Oh, I almost forgot to add...I was thinking that I needed to adjust my pillows when I lounge or sleep and had thought to turn my sleeping pillow vertical inline with my body! You mention that in your other video & your confirmation of my thought made me chuckle. Did it last night and it was so comfortable. I've been a back sleeper since childhood. :-)

    These exercises look easy to do and you demonstrated them so well! I liked that you used the skeleton of the spine to depict what has happened to the spine, it's proper posture and the spine position while sleeping to remove a hump. BTW, I've slept on a firm air mattress for years and do not have any of the morning stiffness, back aches or joint pain many people have who are my age. My husband's lower back pain completely dissolved after sleeping on a hard firm mattress. I believe sleeping on a hard mattress is always best. God didn't create Adam and Eve and then tell them to go and buy a mattress! They slept on the ground. Sleeping on a hard surface is the way God intended.

    For the last couple of months I have been suffering from headaches, a stiff neck and early morning waking. I have also been clenching my jaw at night and even invested in a mouth guard. and started meditation to relax. This morning I noticed that I have developed a neck hump and having watched your three videos I am wondering if all of my symptoms are down to working on a laptop, side sleeping on too many pillows and a very soft mattress. I am going to change my sleeping style and start doing the stretches and exercises you recommend. Watch this space!

    Hello Dr. Saunders. Just found your channel and I’ve watched all 3 parts of correcting the neck hump. I definitely suffer from one and forward head posture, and just bad posture in general. My main issue (although it does bother me how it looks) isn’t so much the hump, but rather the pain I feel down my upper back and neck. Lately it’s been more like neuropathic pain around my shoulder blades sometimes accompanied by headaches. I’ve been seeing a chiropractor that swears he can alleviate not only the pain but also fix my head forward posture but says it will require like a year of adjustments (3x/week for first 4 weeks!), and buying a special neck pillow and this neck hump corrector (sold by him 🤔). Total cost will be over $2700. I’m so skeptical to say the least. I’ve seen so many chiropractors, done physical therapy, stretching, and mobility exercises. Nothing has really helped longterm. Now I ran into your videos and it seems so much easier AND CHEAPER to do what you say. Is this chiropractor a scam???

  • @drjonsaunders

    @drjonsaunders

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Ruth - it is hard for me to say what you need as I don't have all the findings your chiropractor has. Starting 3/week is not unsual for chiropractic or physiotherapy. I would just confirm that your chiropractor will be doing progress exams/re-assessments periodically to make sure you are progressing how both you and they expect. All the best!

    @@ruthsalinas9479 Again, I cannot say without knowing your full case history, exam findings, x-rays, etc...you can certainly help your forward head posture by doing some the stuff I show in my videos, but sometimes there are restrictions in the joints, underlying damage in the joints, specific alignment issues that need to be addressed by a chiropractor. Chiropractors have special training in spinal mechanics, posture, etc...so for the best possible correction, seeing a chiropractor can help tremendously...I hope this helps...all the best!

    I've been having chronic pain in this area C7 for 2 years straight. I do have fat accumulation and took MRI. Doctors said it's poor posture and nothing else than muscle pain. Thanks for your question...yes the area can become sensitive and painful...usually applying a cold pack to the area can help...and C7 will always "stick out" more due to the length of the spinous process, but it posture is the cause of the hump it will be much more noticeable. Best wishes.

    Does a large chest contribute to this as well? Mine started before I gained weight and only got a little bigger after that. Planning to get lipo on it in the next year after I lose some weight, but hoping that it won’t just return if my shoulders are still sagging. It’s getting to the point where I feel so much tightness/pain in the area that radiates up the sides of the neck and into my head like a headache. Sleep quality has been terrible 🥴

  • @drjonsaunders

    It is definitely hard to do...1) Stay on your back as long as you can, 2) when on your side, try not to tuck your chin or "look down" when sleeping, and 3) Focus more on some of these stretches and exercises: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Za2ElNqgec6rfJc.html
