Great video. My wife clogged the intake pipe on our machine with grated bar soap (don't ask) and I had no idea how to proceed. Your synopsis of how things work gave me enough clues to figure things out and saved us a big repair bill during the holidays.

Well done Michelle, The most common reason for detergent blocking like this is overloading. Not only does that cause blockages but it is costing you significantly more in detergent as well so make sure you use the correct amount. If starting and stopping the machine turns the water on and off but it does not fill until you start a cycle then the control PCB is likely to be OK. If this is the case and the machine is overfilling check the small hose to the pressure switch is not blocked and replace this if no other problem is found. Note: only disconnect the hose when the machine is empty as otherwise it will confuse the filling level.

I ha an LG Washer, Model WM2688HWMA. I recently replaced the bearings which also involved replacing the rear outer tub, the old one had cracks around where the seal should go and would not allow it to snap into place. I did clean the inlet valve filters while I had the hoses off. Within the first couple of days, we had an FE code which sounded the alarm and we caught it in time to avoid problems. Today the front door on the washer burst open with water going every where and lots of water still in the tub so I figure it over filled. There was no alarm though. Question(s), what should I check, the inlet valve(s) or the water level control or all of the above. Or just replace these items? One thing, the top hose (largest one) had a different part inline than the original which was mushroom shaped.

How do you clean inside where the dispenser sits? Mine is horrible and full of black sludge. I have tried to clean it but never really gets it all out by putting my hand inside and really tricky to do. It smells awful and the softener part is often full of water after the wash. Also I have found it is not always spinning the clothes out enough especially on a heavier wash cycle and I have to respin it. Any ideas on that please? It is an 8 year old Miele. Many thanks

Hello, thanks for the tips. I have been trying to diagnose my Bosch WFL 2060UC Bosch Axxis washer problem. What I can observe is the following: when I start a cycle, the water starts going through the valve and through the cold water black hose (we only use cold water by the way and the hot water fosset is closed even if the hot water external hose is of course still hooked). Then the water flow switches its trajectory and goes through the other inner hose that's connected to the hot water valve (apparently), but the water doesn't go through the dispenser jets as supposed to, it just weakly trickles down the back inner wall of the dispenser box and doesn't make it into the actual soap dispenser compartment. I checked both inner hoses; there's nothing stuck in either. I checked the dispenser box jets (dismounted it following one of your video instructionals) and could clearly see it was clean, no obstruction in the jet holes. I suspect it's the valves that may be disfunctional, but I don't have a multimeter to check the resistance. What do you suggest? Should I just order a new set of valves or should I invest in a multimeter? At this point I'm pretty sure it's a valve problem, but you might have better insights?

+Lisa Reutenauer Check the following video as this is often the cause of dispenser problems. kzread.info/dash/bejne/enhpmZKcdanSftI.html If the water is definitely only trickling in remove the external hoses and check if the small filter in the inlet of the valve is blocked. You can usually remove these with a pair of pliers and clean it.

  • @eSpares

    @eSpares

+Lisa Reutenauer Just a thought, re reading your description you have two hoses attached and one fed from the 'hot' valve. If this supply has not got the same pressure to fill the machine when the machine 'calls' for hot then water may only trickle in and the machine may think there is a problem and shut down if it is to slow. When it is trying to fill from this other hose pause the machine and temporarily switch the hoses on a test run. If it fills correctly at this point the issue may be low hot water pressure. If this is the case the simplest way of getting round your problem may be to get a adaptor like: www.espares.co.uk/product/es106398 and connect both hoses off the cold supply (assuming your machine has its own heater).

Hi, we have a problem with our Indesit wax120 washing maching, it keeps filling with water, and programme selector keeps going round. We bought a multimeter,a new selector and now a new water inlet valve all from espares. The new valve is not showing any reading and we would like to exchange it for a new one please. Mai.

  • @eSpares

    9 жыл бұрын

Hi Mai, the water valve only needs a little current to work and will not measure a resistance on the lower ranges of the meter. It should read around 4000 ohms if you select the correct range. If the valve starts letting water through when you turn on and stops if you switch off at the wall it is not faulty. If faulty contact our customer service for a replacement at: www.espares.co.uk/returns

Aiqi Lu First check the filter at the bottom of the machine is clear of any debris then run a rinse cycle and listen to the pump when it starts draining. The machine should empty from full in under 45 seconds, if it takes longer the machine may be spinning with excess water throwing it up out the dispenser. If it is slow draining see another video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mKZ5rMqRabbWoNo.html

  • @7Somerset

The rinse cycle doesn't seem to be filling up with water in my machine. In fact I saw it pour a bit of water while not spinning, drain, then spin slowly as though it were rinsing. After spinning the other way it paused again, poured a little water, drained then spun again like before. So my clothes ended up coming out very soapy. Is the rinse cycle supposed to fill all the way up with water?

  • @7Somerset

  • @eSpares

Many modern machines use low water content to increase their efficiency. Your problem is more likely to be due to excess detergent or overloading rather than a water filling problem. The drum should never be filled more than two thirds or the clothes cannot rinse or clean effectively.

damn i wish id seen this before! My Gorenje WA50125 wasnt filling up properly. CHeck water hose and it seemed fine so i took the inlet valve to a spare part shop and he checked it and it was fine. I went home, reconnected the valve and thinking the connections might have been iffy i gave them a squeeze with some pliers, there was a 'pop' noise, little flash, tiny puff of smoke and now theres no sign of life at all :( any advice? have i blown the board? I just checked the water again and the pressure is rather low so i think it may have been the problem after all :(

eSpares Ok great thanks for that. I checked the plug/cable, on the lowest ohm setting on a multimeter i was getting a reading of 18/1900 so i assume that means it hasnt blown the fuse in the plug. Yes the pop/flash was definitely on the pump connector. Im just a bit hesitant to order one from the service centre as its 70 euros and they dont allow returns, but if you say it probably is the control board then thats good enough for me...thanks again!!

+hanif daryanavard The water level is to high, when empty make sure the pressure hose is not blocked by blowing into the tub. If this is ok the pressure switch or control board may be faulty.

Val Morse It is likely the drawer has stuck due to a build up of detergent or softener that has spilt onto the sliding edges and 'glued' it in place. I would try to use either a steamer to blow steam around the edges and take the top of the machine or a plant spray to try and squirt warm water to dissolve the deposits and free the drawer. Be patient when trying and ultimately if it breaks then an engineer would probably have to break it and replace it anyway.
