How to Create Cubic Typography in GIMP | GIMP Text Effect Tutorial
In this GIMP text tutorial, I show you how to wrap your text around a 3D cube - a technique I'm calling "Cubic Typography." This graphic design technique is similar to the kinetic typography technique, where text either appears in motion or is interacting with a 3D object or a 3D space. Use this free and amazing photo editing software plus a free font to create an incredible composition!

What if I have a 3D letter and I want the words to "shape" the letter. Are you able to do that?

Use the 3D transform tool in the toolbox - it’s grouped with the other transform tools (shortcut key is shift+w)

Guys, is there a discord server for Gimp?
As much as gimp updates anymore they ought to include auto update

Some of these plug-ins are really old, from a time when GPUs were a distant thought in the future and the cost in CPU cycles to simply render these effects in real time would drag your computer down to a crawl so the developers had to make compromises. Modern GEGL-based GIMP plug-ins can afford to update the preview window in real time because they offload the rendering to the GPU (even modest Intel's integrated GPUs can do a decent job with GEGL plug-ins) which makes it _really_ fast and doesn't tax the CPU at all. Sadly, not all of the old plug-ins were replaced with GEGL-based replacements (and some most likely never will due to GIMP core code being somewhat tied to the past, so to speak). TLDR: You can have auto update but only on GEGL plug-ins.

@@DaviesMediaDesign Tried that and have a screen that looks very different.
This is really cool but I think people trying to do this should add Blender to their tool box..... Im a 3D Artist and I have to add GIMP to my Tool Box even though I can paint textures in Blender... its not as simple as GIMP and this 3D tool is so hard to use compared to Blender plus Blender is Free. But Thanks for this video. Now I have learned how to align layers, slice text and Crop to content..... Awesome...... add Blender to your tool box people..... if you can use GIMP you can use Blender...... its not as hard as you might think. Oh and Davies Media Design Rocks!
i don't why people disliked the video....
Nice haircut
