Hey Davies, love seeing your work, the possibilities within GIMP never cease to amaze me. One question, I did this tutorial on a 4K Monitor, while everything went smoothly, the preview image of the 3D Mapping tool was very small, only 200x200. I was wondering if there is any chance of increasing said size. Thank you so much and keep at it!

how am i supposed to get a half cylinder with the other half transparent? I tried to use a layer selected with the half of it empty but the cylinder mapping got weird with part of it cylinder mapped and some parts with the full original image pasted on a side of the cylinder with no stretched at all.

Hello all! I have some questions. In this video if you click text or Alignment it brings up options in the left panel. My Gimp is not doing this. I have to go to Windows - Tool options to get the menu which is then only floating . As soon as I click out the program it disappears. How can I get the left panel option??? Also the text at 150 is too larger and wraps. I try to reduce it and selecting it all but the changed font size will not register. It will not change! Why??

I can't find 'map to object' when I enter map in the search and run option in the Help Tab. I work with Gimp 2.10.14 and O.S. is Ubuntu 18.04 Where can I find the option Map to Object ? Thanks

You can locate it in the main menu by going to Filters>Map>Map Object. Any reason you haven't updated to GIMP 2.10.22?

If you can't find it in search, it's probably because the image isn't in RGB. Click Image > Mode > RBG. It fails to show up in search if not.
