Nick started me on my path to GIMP as well. It really is great software. His Inkscape tuts are super helpful too if you haven't tried that yet.

great video😁 i had a question regarding something off topic. I recently installed gimp and im quite familiar with the software, but for whatever reason the drag and drop feature isnt working. ill crop/cut something and when i try to click anywhere on the canvas, it just doesnt drop the image(the option to "select none" isnt highlighted eather so i can even click that). I would really appreciate the help 😀

thanks for this. very good tutorial. only issue i'm having is the custom brush is not drawing smooth. it's like the spacing is changing to great than 1. new machine ryzen 5600x, 32G ram. can't figure it out. it's like the brush won't output fast enough. tried lots of settings and nada. any ideas?

I don't see why not. What happens when you try to change it?

I followed the steps but the 3d text is not showing up. It is visible from the layer menu but not on the canvas

I normally "like" all of your videos, but this one was at 666 "likes," so I thought I'd leave it there. 😂 Thanks for another great tut. The letters totally remind me of old-school bubblegum.

When I do this, I have always black pixels in my drawing and I don't know how I can fix this. The black pixels come from the edge of every circle (from the brush) which gets draw.

This doesn't happen to me when I use the circle from the brushes, but it does happen when I draw a circle with the elipse tool and then fill it in with a color, but the pixels go away as soon as I zoom in or out. I'd say it may be an artifact that isn't really going to be there once saved and or printed...don't know what causes it though. I have an old computer with an old graphics card and always thought it was due to that, but not sure.

Hey there Nick, I have a request for a video, since I've been struggling with an image for some days now. So I'd like very much to know, how I can after making a shape with the Free Select Tool on an image, make it look like a 3d sphere. In GiMP theres a function called "Spherize" but it's only doing a circular shape, where I wish to create an odd shape with Free Select Tool and make it "Spherized". Can you please make a tutorial on that? all the best D

For some reason when i se the cliboard brush, it has a really nasty black outline, even though it isn't present when copying it, how can i fix this?
