How To Correct Your NECK HUMP // Simple Stretch & Exercise
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Neck humps, also known as Dowager's Humps or Buffalo Humps are often a cause of concern for many of my patients. Neck humps are correctable in most cases but it does require consistent effort and can take many months depending on the severity.

my mom was always on my ass about my posture and I told her it didn’t matter now here I am watching this video
The hump on my back caused me so much pain that my neck was always feeling contracted, like I was constantly under stress. It felt like something was stuck in my throat, had difficulty relaxing my upper body and breathing exercises weren't helping either. I tried lying on my back 10 minutes ago as I was watching your video and I immediately felt relief, although the exercises are uncomfortable , I felt the stiffness of my neck melting. Thank you so much.
That first chin stretch felt SUPER good on the back of my neck. Thank you!

Very good explanation and exercises. Vey precise and simple. I like it when there are only a couple of exercises shown in one VLOG because if there are too many at a time, it’s easy to forget them and that defeats the purpose. Thankyou!
Hi thank you for the video. I will say that in addition to me correcting my posture I’m also using a foam roller to loosen up my extremely tight thoracic spine and ever since doing so my thoracic spine and my lower neck pop quite frequently. It’s painless but it’s a brand new sound that’s weird.
Especially the first exercise did help a lot already!

This was SO helpful I’m going to keep watching your videos. I do have one problem I’m wondering if you have a video or could make one on and that’s rounded shoulders. That’s been my biggest issue when trying to fix my dowagers hump. I need to gain muscle both places so I don’t look awkward but I’m having a problem figuring out my shoulders especially. Also Do you have any other channel recommendations that may offer similar advice?

"a little bit self-conscious" would be cool. I'm hyper conscious i dont wanna go put qnd constantly pull down my shirt and i feel like ppl are always looking at it. Im always a bit underweight so you can really see the bone nicely. But i loev how you explained the difference between neck hump and kyphosis. Because my friend (we work at healthcare btw) said it might be kyphosis and i was always like "nah this is different." So it's easy fot me to say that youre literally the first one to make me feel better about that. Also about the first stretch, something I heard by a military trick to keep your posture is to imagine that your head is attached to a string and being pulled up
I've been wanting to go to the doctors with my neck & shoulder pain but i can never get an appointment - but i'm going to give your exercises a go first - will keep you posted. Also bought the Kenco neck stretcher.

Thanks for the informational video! I’ve been practicing those and a couple others last couple months and it was definitely uncomfortable at the beginning but I’ve seen and felt so much better lately. And absolutely it’s an everyday exercise one must do. I’m a side sleeper and been working on just a slim pillow and sleeping on my back. I wasn’t a fan of it but it’s getting better, and each night I’m sleeping better. I’ll also in the morning before I go to work I’ll do a 15 minutes routine and it helps improve my start of the day.

Please have your daughter checked as a dark patch (or band) of velvety skin on the back of her neck, armpit, groin, or elsewhere could mean that she has too much insulin in her blood. This is often a sign of prediabetes. The medical name for this skin condition is acanthosis nigricans.

Also do you endorse wearing the back braces. I'm 55. If so which are the best? Could you list top 3, for variable budgets. Just a hey.............it's frustrating I have gone to a Chiropractor for years & it was never brought up to me to work on. My hair has probably helped cover the look, but I noticed it myself when looking at my profile. It didn't happen overnight. SURE would have been nice for Dr. to have mentioned, hey do you know you are developing this & here's how to when stop/prevent worsening. It's embarrassing.

I don't respond well to the actual exercises, what actually helps me is the laying down part like your videos show. Sometimes I'll lay down on a hard floor for hours flat on my back for relief.
This is GREAT but it makes the front of neck look worse! Help with that?
Is it possible to have a neck hump without forward head posture?

Hi Robinson. So sorry to hear about your pain. Please watch the video below and let me know if it is more helpful. Best wishes, Ashley. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqNmzM2DoqrYhrQ.html
I think I've always had this since sixth grade, I think it went away when I was in junior high and highschool cause of wearing a backpack that forced me to stand up straighter
Curious, my mid-upper T-spine is very flat. Then my C7 is dowagers hump. Is there a connection btwn flat Tspine and humping C7?
I tried this for a week and over did it and was in knife slicing pain until I found a good balance. Ive since been doing it regularly without pain. I havent been keeping visual track of my hump but my biggest take away is that I will notice im forward and pull my chin back. I also notice when my upper back is hurting from work if I pull my chin back and squeeze my shoulder blades it makes little pops and releases pressure.

@@PrecisionWellbeinga rambling update. I no longer get a good strech with chin tucks and pulling my head back alone and now do them gravity assisted. I have gotten very good at streching? Cracking? Those muscles and the surrounding upper back by just streching (like just moving around without physically pushing pulling ect my body) my upper back makes a TON of crunchy sounds probably because its never really been used before and is in shock. Im still not keeping visual track of progress because I really do believe there's a genetic component and thats not really my goal anyway. I no longer am unsure how far back my head is supposed to sit because it seats itself ears above shoulders almost all of the time with the exception being when im very tired. I have changed my computer set up and brought everything closer. Dont reach with your head put the monitor in your face you blind b*****! I have significantly less upper back pain overall. I have caught myself resting the back of my head down with my chin up instead of leaning forward... a win is a win. Its vertically in position so I call that progress. Maybe im chin up because the muscles are tight in the back? So I tuck my chin and pull my head down forward to strech when I notice im doing this and its always a good strech so im assuming that solution cant hurt. Im actually really shocked how much progress im seeing in so little time. I mean it really only has been a handful of weeks and a simple easy exercise. Amazing!
Would a low pillow be better?
