I always strain laxtex paint every time I fill a cup/liner. Never had a problem with clogs.

My local volunteer group uses a pair of these guns to paint over graffiti and they have performed well. We only use exterior latex paint and find water to be a suitable cleaning solution. I did find the part about if after cleaning the spray tip and still needing to clean the pump removing the tip to prevent excessive wear interesting. The owner's manual 3A4476G pg. 22 also recommends 15-second spray times instead of 5 seconds. Since we are not overly concerned with the quality of the finish making the guns operate and last is our main concern.

What is considered an "appropriate cleaning fluid"? I have an Ultra. Just warm water or soapy water or something else? More details please!

What happens if I leave the sprayer overnight ready to paint for the morning? Would the pump get damage because of holding the pressure for a long time?

What cleaning product is safe to remove dried latex from the main body of the sprayer? Is Goof Off okay or will it attack the plastic? Oil based jobs are easy to clean up with mineral spirits, but latex paint is a nightmare. I spent well over an hour scrubbing off latex paint and my spray gun still looks like crap? I really need some good advice, please.

All of our shrouds are tested for resistance to most chemicals in cleaning products. I don't have a recommendation of a specific product that works best and I haven't heard about Goof off yet. Important to avoid products that are too alkali.

Maybe, but if taken care of properly the cordless ultra is awesome. After a thorough cleaning I store it with a dedicated cup and liner half full of pump armor. It beats having to clean a 25' hose for small, occasional jobs.

Matthew Morrison if you’re spraying water based paint then you would use warm water. If oil pases paint then of course mineral spirits or paint thinner.

What would be awesome is a twist connection exactly like the paint cup has that attaches to a garden hose. a permanent regulator could be installed to reduce the pressure from 40psi if need be.

I've been having the same issue. It takes me about 40 minutes to get it clean enough tand I can't seem to figure out how to expedite the process. I always clean the cup first and I take the filter off the bottom to clean it before putting water through and it still always takes forever.

I just followed this instructions but it turned into a disaster as the cleaning fluid and paint purchased in Lowes turned into a chewing gum substance that clocked up everything rather than thinning the paint. Valspar SeasonFlex + Crown Brush Cleaner = toxic chewing gum. This was recommended by the Lowes "paint specialist" for a paint gun. Crap, obviously I should have used whatever really thins the paint to it's thinnest. Actually water is better and I totally wasted money. Of course I should have known better. Now I've spent perhaps 1.5 hours on cleaning what I can access without disassembling the entire gun but it is still clogged completely inside and I can see this thick chewing gum latex substance stuck inside.
