I have had so many issues with this little sprayer. I searched for tutorials. Watched videos. Reached out to graco customer support and warranty (they were very helpful and sent me a replacement pump). Read the manual over and over again. Followed all the directions. With all that being said, this video has the tips and tricks I have NEEDED. Thank you so much! I have full faith with my new pump and these tips, my sprayer will do the work. Thanks!

I just purchased my chorded 360 dual speed, version it my mind how fast and how well it sprays. The quality of spray is almost industrial factory finish, truly astonishing. I was also impressed with the intelligence of the simplicity in its use, it is as if someone deliberately wanted to make each step easy and clean, the care of user friendly and intelligence design is absolutely brilliant. My only complaint is that the cleaning and maintenance instructions are lacking. Mine no longer sprays after one use and I don't know why, did all the maintenance on the manual and it still will not spray. Hopefully this video will help but I feel a company that went through such great lengths to produce such an outstanding product would take the last extra step to protect its customers with better maintenance and trouble shotting guidance. Also, mine does not show two valves in the front like yours does, and Ii am afraid to unscrew the front end like you did and break something if it's not supposed to be unscrewed since it looks different from yours. Just bought itt yesterday and HATE to return it back but don't know what to do, and I can't keep a unit that only worked once.

Great video, I have two of these units. The corded and cordless version (non max). The problem is the pump does not last. It's not made for production work. 50 gallons or so and the pump is pretty much guaranteed to die. That is not a lot of life in my world when it's 200bucks for a new pump. I've killed 3pumps, will not be purchasing a 4th (piston rods break inside of the pump - way too fragile). The insane convenience of the corded unit will be missed, but I'm not gonna continue investing into endless pumps. If they were cheaper like 70bucks a piece, or lasted 3x longer, I'd be buying them left and right. The value just isn't there for me, and it makes me so sad inside because I absolutely love these units (cordless one especially) when it works.

I love Graco but I've run through 2 pumps as well. Less than a year on both and I'm only using them for my smaller projects and touch ups. $200+ for a pump. I clean the unit so it looks new after every use and store it with pump guard........two pumps later. I think the design of the thin piston rods is weak!

It's literally impossible to make these units last. Even if you're thoroughly cleaning it and always store it with pump armor, you're running liquid through the pump. It will die, and die fast. It can only pressurized a miniscule amount of liquid before the pump self destructs. The first time I killed a pump I thought maybe I abused the handheld a little bit, and I babied every single one afterwards and it's just a timebomb that is ticking away no matter what you do.. And before its catastrophic failure it stops working properly near the downward spiral of its short life so youre not even getting a good fully functional 50gallons. Save your money. I wasted 1400bucks in total probably before I gave up on them.

I just bought the UltraMax. I have a Gx-21 and it's an absolute monster. I bought this to fix the mistakes other contractors make when handling furniture and trimming, but after reading, it handles only 200 liters... WOW...

My apologies if I'm incorrect here, but I have the Sherwin Williams branding (the Ultimate). At about 00:40 you mention that the first two models are ONLY for water-born materials. My manual tells me that I can use both Water-based AND Oil-based paints. What I cannot use, which is what the Max is for, is Flammable materials.

I pray enamel paint from home depot setting is at #1 on sprayer. Graco 360 VSP keep dripping paint at the spray tip connection ( part where you turn to unclog and turn again to spray). any tips on fixing this issue?

My thinking is if you start out with a bigger Graco commercial unit like the 390 or 490 get use to using and maintaining it before using Trying the handheld The handheld cost and maintenance will save you on alot on labor It's a great product you will love it in the long run just a little finicky and a lot to learn

You are right! I have the 395 graco! But when I mmes to use for small job! I need to have a gallon of paint to use the 395n and I bee looking for the tc pro! Since you can use small amount of paint! What I’m worry! Is the use for the pump! That may don’t last to long! And replace it! Is like 200 dollars

I use the Ultra when I’m doing small jobs and might only have a gallon of paint for. A few interior doors, couple coats on a little trim etc. Just built a couple mirror frames and hit them with some Breakthrough paint. It’s a handy little machine for sure.

This fixed it for me. I held it upside down with paint thinner and it began to spray. But now it only sprays upside down.

tc pro it's some like ultra only different is fflp tips. can put fflp and x guard tips on tc pro some pump tc pro and ultra ? can spray oil base in tc pro ?

Most likely the cup assembly is loose, you need to tighten fairly firm

You might have cross threaded the cup assembly when attaching it.

what is the difference between ultra max and tc pro plus

Used to come with hardshell cases. Not now, yet surprised because one can spend HALF as much $ on a drill and it WILL come with a hardshell case. These soft cases really just keep everything together-- no protection at all.

How do I clean the pump armor out of the pump when I am ready to use again? Its an oil which will cause problems with water base paints. Also the Vaseline which he says to use. That is a type of oil as well which I would think would cause problems with water based paints

Flush with a little clear water before priming with your paint. Same as when you primed and sprayed with pump armor to store, repeat procedure but with water.

Hi Will Graco replace the pump if it goes bad? I’ve seen a lot of people say the pump fails. I was thinking about purchasing but I’m having second thoughts because of the bad reviews. Does these paint sprayers have a warranty, if so how long thanks.

Same. I bought it, but after reading all of the reviews of pump failures, I'm thinking about returning it. It seems like even a cheaper painter like the Project Painter Plus might be more durable.

The problem I have is the gun will prime and spray paint fine, but when I try to flush with water, it won't prime or spray. The water leaks through the cup and I get micro bubbles inside. Graco told me to clean the check balls, but issue still exists. Also, my lid came with a white seal and all the others I see are the black seal. Strange.

did you fix your issue? Note, to confirm if the cup assembly is leaking, gently squeeze the bag, if it releases air, you don't have good seal. grease the seal and tighten firmly, then repeat

@@matthewmensing9724 Still have the issue. It's only when water is in the cup. I changed cups, seals, lid and cleaned the heck out of it, and nothing has solved it.

I had this problem. Troubleshooting guide says that if you can prime and spray paint but not water, then the pump is failing and you need to replace.

Great tips perhaps you could tell Graco to rewrite their ultra max instructions.

I have not had good experiences with the ultra, payed $800 , doesn’t seem to be worth it, so sorry I bought it.

Too many areas for possible air leaks. Have done the vaso trick many times. Still getting spit and spatter air leaks. Worst hunk of junk I have ever spent money on!.

People that don't take the time to clean them thoroughly will be disappointed.

This is an understatement. Clean is subjective, and my opinion is that most folks spray some water through it and shelf it, then expect it to work 9 months later.

I just had to replace a pump on mine after having it sit for some months. I didn't blame anyone but me! The Graco service reps say that a person should run some material (probably water) through every 3 to 6 months when not is use AND then store with some Graco Pump Armour in it. The crazy thing in my case was that I had a model of pump I which you could not remove the two spring seated ball valves on the front of the unit because when you tried to take them out using the prescribed 8mm hex wrench, the material that they were made of is so soft that all they would do is strip and spin... So doing a final clean on them was not possible.

Problems are In most situations not caused by a malfunction of the pump itself but most often by the poor design of the tip where paint gets caught in a small chamber in the very end of the tip. If Graco took sustainability seriously they would allow customers to repair/ purchase the front plastic tip. This would solve the vast majority of malfunctioning Ultras. Graco is Chinese crap labeled as American quality.

I’ve got one, useless , used once then placed in storage..now it won’t pump battery issues , $220 for a new battery . Then they say there’s issues with your model, but don’t offer trade in or compensation. As I said useless product and equally useless customer service ..

I have two of them. Both pumps failed from clogs. After clearing clogs a second time found all orings are rock hard. Absolute junk design. These are nothing more than toys and has me very apprehensive to ever buy another Graco product again

Poor machine, not quality as it said. Broken down at the first time use and results for water based oil was horrible.

This is garbage it’s not worth it to spend hundred bucks in them, I bought a new one and I spray 2 gallons pain with it doesn’t work anymore 👎
