How to clean a Graco Ultra cordless handheld airless sprayer

How to clean a Cordless Graco Ultra handheld airless sprayer.
The Graco Ultra is for waterbased paints. Its a brilliant compact airless sprayer which benefits from being cordless. You can spray in all directions including upside down. Max tip size is a .16.
Same idea if you had 1 bucket of clean water and a waste bucket. Slightly fill your cup each time and run and prime, repeat 3 to 4 times and will be clean for next use.
If youre using the Graco Ultra Max cordless sprayer, you would have a bucket of your cleaning material and a dirty bucket for waste and again pour clean material in the cup and prime and spray, pour away and repeat.
If cleaning under a tap do so at your own risk. I don't have the tap running fast and don't let it pour onto the units case.

Interesting technique. I plan to use it with a minor twist. By cutting a hole in the bottom of a cup liner I can add fresh water without removing the cup and to swirl and decant dirty water as needed to facilitate cleaning in the upside down position. (Freely admit I’m a lazy when it comes to cleanup)

Always like that you pick good music. Good man. Have you got an air assisted airless unit ? I don’t spray my woodwork but I want to. I have an HVLP unit but I only use it for Morrells products. They are for spraying not like typical gloss or satin that needs to be thinned down so much there not worth using with my three stage turbine. So considering AAA. You managed a good finish with new FFLP tips on airless or your handheld unit ? Cheers

Steven Mcfarlane hey thanks 😎. The music is actually my old band haha i get done for copywrite if i have music on in the back ground thats not.mine... tikurrilla is nice to spray. But if you get a more powerful turbine a 4 stage ia 9psi and a 3 stabe is like 6psi so a big jump in power.. Fflp tipa yes got a great finish with them with main unit and ultra hanf held. I'll be using the finish pro 9.5 to spray waterbased gloss next week on spindles. No more that 5 to %10 thinning.. or for your 3 stage if you warm the paint up b3fore spraying you wont need to thin as much 🤘🏻

Hi did you sort it? If waterbased. I would fill a cup with hot water and a little dish soap. . Take the guard off. Connect the pot. Power on 9. Flip the unit upside down. Flick in prime and pull the trigger for 5 seconds. Leave to rest against a wall with the unit upside down for 10 minutes. Come back and flick it into spray and see ig it comes out. Try it in prime again and then spray.

The house is just under 4000 sq ft (800sq ft that's a second story), and the garage is an additional, just under 1200 sq ft, so I was using it for lower areas. It was just something extra that I purchased to use, in addition to a regular sprayer. I was thinking I could use it later inside, as well. When I went to return it, they were out, and I didn't want to have to deal with waiting for a replacement, so I just kind of said screw it. At some point I'd like to get another one though. Aaron McBride RACING ELITE have a couple tubs or buckets. Use one to clean bits and parts in. Run the dirty spirits through yhe.machine. do it with small amounts at a time. That way you can keep puttinh clean material in and it will clean faster. I would put some in your gun pot. Mid pressure. Don't prime. Turn.it upside down and spray the cleaner out. Then run some in prime. Then spray then prime and spray. Should be pretty clean then

michael mcmike thanks. Ye all good mate mines easily had 100L through and still running. You might need to filter the emulsion through a siv as they always have like gel bits which through a spit or makes blockagesm try diluting 10% and it will go through easier. michael mcmike 514 is ok. 516 will let more paint out. Well for walls and ceilings yoy want to cover the most area with least passes dont you. I dont really change the filters over generally sray all with black. But especially emulsion. For woodwork tips look at 210 310 and 410 for wider areas. Emulsions like i said 516 616 514 youll prob get a few bloclages and it will be slower. Also i sometimea store in pump armour but i keep mine indoora when not in use and its cleaned well. @@sprayaholic That's a good idea and good tip to share with others. I do prime mine upside down to let the inside paint out and I catch all the paint I can in anything that goes on the garbage so the paint doesn't go to the ground or drain pipes. I was doing fine for over a year until I let it sit for a couple of days with paint. I thought it go clogged when I was cleaning it, but it wasn't spray water on any ways, thought adding more paint and sprayed paint, I went back thinking it got unclogged and tried to clean just when I was watching your video with no luck on getting water coming out so it cleans the paint from inside. Take the cup off and put your gun over the paint can. Flick in prime and just run the unit a few seconds. This dumps any paint thats held in the machine before you go to flush it through. It cleans faster that way. Do you have waterbased gun cleaner?
