HOW TO: Clean Ram Fry Containers ***Keeping Healthy Strong Fry***

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This video is much requested by you ram breeders out there.
I must say it was nice to return back to the back bone topics that I did videos on a very long time ago. The only difference being that I am now in full swing in the fish room with my ram breeding programs and the techniques seem to have ever so slightly changed.
Hope you are all enjoying this week and making time to enjoy the fish 🐠
Thanks,
Jus

I use a hang on breeder box with air dripping fresh water in from the main tank. As long as the air is turned right down, and an extra piece of sponge is used to block the outflow to prevent escape, it works quite well. Around about the same amount of work though, overall.

@@JustinsFishRoom hey I didn't do too well with the batches. They were new spawns for 3 different pairs and were pretty weak along with me making a few rookie mistakes. The bit I'm struggling with the most is getting them from free swimming to brine. I have just started using the egg Yolk technique so thanks for that too. I'm based in Yorkshire in England so the genetic pool of Black Rams is quite weak at the moment. The golds do fine most times but the Black's are a bit of a nightmare to reach adulthood 🙈. They should be sexually mature by now especially if the female has a nice pink belly. Sometime they don’t spawn due to a variety of reasons and it’s just a matter of trying to change your setup or conditions of you water until the do show sign of breeding behaviour

Hi Justin. Loved this video. You made it look so simple 😄. I tried raising ram fries and I don’t know why I am losing about 5-10 fries daily. I am feeding them bbs and l can’t stop them dying. After first week I kept on losing fries daily. So I moved them to an aquarium 1 feet length* 9inch breadth * 1 feet height. Aquarium filled to 60-70% with water. . But the story continues. Sad part is the bigger ones which are already 2 weeks older is dying. I am down to 15 fries 😅. I am doing a small water change thrice a day and feeding bbs. I just can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. Water tds was 300. Temp at 28 degree Celsius. Should I add only aged aquarium water as fresh water for water change?
