Great content as per mate, useful coming into the lockdown 2.0 😂 Can tell you from a student where all my home gym is at the garage back home, cheaper alternative I’ve used water....got 2 free 25 litre water containers, full it and it’s like 24-26kg, great for kettlebell, squats, shoulder front lifts, less water and you can do anything tbf. Only for the month as gyms are shut 😂

@@DyabeuPL mate, literally all my equipment is in my home gym away from uni. CBA to spend like another few hundred on top of a gym membership down at uni. I use instead (when gyms aren’t open due to current lockdown) big water containers, can do swings, hold and squat and anything you can think of. Strong set of resistance bands when stacked add up to 140kg so can do virtually anything with them. Also a ton of callisthenics - Horizontal pushes (push up variations) - Horizontal pulling (Inverted rows) - Vertical push extension (Pike push variations) - Vertical push flexion (dips) - vertical pulling (pull up and chin ups, can due bc no pull up bar) A mix of all of them with cardio. you’ll end up stacking on a good solid base, lose fat while building muscle. Just don’t ego do anything, if you can’t do a push up with PERFECT FORM, perform incline push ups with perfect form until you develop the strength to do an actual push up. QUALITY over quality any day of the week.

Assembly by myself was not too hard. I took my time and followed the diagrams. I particularly like the pictures and names of the exercises organized by muscle groups on the front of the kzread.infoUgkxKJHyBZ9I1py9vVi-XLpEBg0y-qmdhn3q . Considering the number of exercises it has a relatively small footprint. I needed a machine that was not too tall because I only have 79" headroom in my cabin and this was just over 78". It is easy to use, seems to be well made, and I am pleased with my purchase. I am doing upper body muscles on Monday and Thursday. Lower body exercises are being done on Tuesday and Friday. Not using it on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am a reasonably fit 66 year old man and this is a great workout.

Ive been using resistance bands i got a set right up to a 79kg max pull each (got in pairs), i also have a set of the tube types purely for certain exercises but am maxing out on them now. The handle with a carabine is a Genius idea that i never thought of, Massive thanks. For those who have never used Bands before, im now getting gains i never though possible, for example with a shoulder press with a pair of my max bands is equivalent of 158kg at the top of the movement, not enough, uses another pair in conjunction and you wont run out of resistance short of being a strongman type lifter. I've seen other videos mentioning theres not enough resistance, showing the smallest 13mm bands, well obviously those wont be, but with the range now available i wont be rushing back to a gym.

Great video ! Gyms are closed in France (for the second time of the year 😢) and I don’t expect them to open before next year. I am using my bench and my dumbbells several times a week at home and I can hit pretty much every muscular group with dumbbells (shoulder, chest, biceps triceps, back). I find it harder for legs although a lot of exercices are possible with bench/dumbbells. For low budget, push up handles and ab roller is also something I could advise. Keep doing your videos they are great !! Cheers from South of France 😉

Looking at this video, hey it's my rack. Well slightly different as mine as a hanger for the barbell instead of the hold on the base.

For weights, if you have a barbell you can make 20kg weight plates out of concrete mix and water. Much cheaper like £5-10 per 20kg plate. They aren't as durable but if you reinforce them with rebar and use mats they will do just fine.

Great vid. I've been waiting 4 months for my atx stuff, its here in a few weeks. I've gone for their 750 cage with lat pull 125kg. I wanted just one heavy stack, I only ever use a duel stack for cable flys. So all back exercises are covered, side laterals, front laterals, even biceps. I've got a 140kg barbell package from atx and an adjustable bench. I'm thinking I should have maybe got the bench with leg attachments but I'm going to focus more on squats. I bought some Olympic barbells so I can utilise my plates. Hopefully going to get a few lighter hex dumbells though. Got an ez bar to, great bit of kit and not to expensive. A tricep rope, few, d hooks, v bar etc. Good to go and can not wait. All in think I've spent about £2500. Just need some flooring then I'll add to it as I go. Great video and help for people Joey D.

Some great advice here. I've managed to be fairly thrifty putting mine together so far. I've managed to get a couple of good deals: £5 Flooring - From Marketplace, only old kid's style jigsaw play mats but better than nothing £5 Push up bars - From Market place £5 Pull up bar - From Market place £17 Dumbbell set - Asda, clearance section, Only a 20Kg adjustable set but I'm only starting out weights wise £3 Resistance bands - TK Maxx (only the cheap ones Joe has said not to bother with, but again better than nothing) £1 Skipping rope - TK Maxx £1 Hand gripper - TK Maxx (the last 3 items were in a set for £5 in clearance section) With a few other small items (water bottle, etc.) I've spent about £40 so far. Long way to go to get what I'd ideally like but you really don't need to spend a lot to make good progress.

For a dirt cheap dip station you could get a walker (like the ones older folks use) at goodwill (or UK equivalent) for like 5-10 bucks. It's very stable and it can fold up and be stored underneath your bed or in a closet.

Epic video Joe. Would recommend buying second hand stuff to everybody. Spend 2000 and I have a rack with bench, barbell and plates. A cable cross, a leg extension and 2 old dumbbels from 2-25kg adjustablw

for anyone in the UK struggling to get equipment - costco has kettle bells in at the moment. they are sand filled so they are a little larger in size but it's not the end of the world. they are really well priced so good for anyone in the on a budget.

Ordered the bench at 7:53 a week ago, arrived yesterday. Really sturdy for the price, i have complete faith in it holding up everything. Much more sturdy than the adjustable ones sub £200.

Bargain then! You're right, cheap adjustable ones are definitely going to be less sturdy.

Definitely worth keeping your eye on gumtree. I picked up a 36kg kettlebell, pairs of 20, 22.5's and 25kg hex dumbbells all for £100

I would just add that for the dumbbells, I'd recommend getting loadable ones. This is exactly because of his point that you want to build on your gym all the time, and you can't ever make a dumbbell weight more or less than it does, so you're always going to have to buy more. However, if you get loadable ones, then you can start at 15kg per hand, and then if you want to go up more, you need to spend less. But it's quite hard to get good prices on those so bear that in mind. Im definitely going to get some handles because I didnt think of that! Great idea and didn't realise they were so cheap.

Great video Joe, you have given me some good ideas, when i first started i got an argos barbell and dumbbell set with spinlock collars, i also got an ez bar with same spinlock collar, i got a cheap bench from amazon and also for a sit up bench, they have sat in the shed for ages to be honest cause i have been training in anytime fitness gym but my contract is due to end in September so i been toying with the idea of a home gym purely for convenience of traveling and waiting for people to finish using gym equipment, i know i definitely need to replace the weight bench cause it's way to narrow i always catch my hand putting barbell back after bench pressing 😂
