Correct. I do not use the lube heater. The harder lubes aren't as good as the softer ones. The lube has to flow under the acceleration of firing and I have had leading because it would not flow. I recovered bullets that were shot with hard lube and the lube was still on the bullet.

What about just heating the lube and pouring it in? I believe someone did that to his Star.

i just purchased a lyman 4500 and i cant get the plunger out.. any ideas. this thing has never been used.
