We are justified and reconciled to God and he is a propiation for our sins and we are sanctified and being sanctified.

Thank you! Just before watching this I read the passage quoted and thought something like this - It is only because God is working in us that we can work out our salvation. In other words, without Him, it wouldn't matter how much you try, the desire to do so wouldn't be there, so no works would be produced, where as when we are born again, we are given a new nature and so what was once difficult for us to give up now becomes easy because He puts in us a new desire, Godly desires, and it is from this new nature that we can do good. Before this I was struggling theologically with, 'are we saved, or being saved?' My thinking was if we are saved, then why should we strive, what's the point in perseverance if there is nothing to lose? Versus 'being saved, which can lead to insecurity and unknowing of salvation, (future) and possibly legalism. Both are contradictions and I wasn't happy with either, but now I simply see it as - if we accept Jesus as Lord and are filled with the Holy Spirit, then He will allow and enable us to carry out the works of our salvation, producing in us fruits worthy of repentance!' Thank you so much, this has helped crystalize and vocalise my thinking.

I got saved in 2015 by the preaching of the gospel to me. My salvation is eternally secured in the Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Salvation is in Christ alone who is the savior of all sins past, present and future. false salvation comes in many shades like ''repent of your sins'' or ''endure to the end'' or ''live a holy life''. false salvation come in two forms...work to get saved or work to stay saved which both of them make the grace of God dead and the preaching of the cross of 0 value to the one who add works of righteousness to salvation. Eternal life, Salvation is in Jesus Christ alone and we can't get that if we rely and trust in ourselves...our efforts...us trying...it's all in the finish WORK of Christ on the cross. Amen.

Amen. Is JPiper's the only way of interpreting this passage? I've started to wonder if this is about evangelism - Christ worked out "His" salvation by suffering which actually led to our glorification together. Otherwise, how is obeying in order to fulfill our salvation analagous to the mind of Christ (who was already in the form of God before he came). God working in Christ to save us, God working in us to cause others to come to Lord Jesus. Thoughts? I'm just struggling to find a hermeneutic for Paul's warning passages that doesn't have self-preservation at the ultimate core.

It is... something precious... that grows the more you cultivate it. "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world..." This New Birth seed is something you KNOW, inside, without seeing: THIS IS HOW GOD gives you FAITH to produce fruits and endure to the end, and now for the rest of 1 John 5:4: "And THIS IS the victory that overcometh the world, EVEN OUR FAITH!" You CAN, because of this REALITY inside you, endure persecutions, and love your enemy! To abide in Christ, to me, means that you dwell on this inner Reality, and let it change your life more and more. I have yet to figure out if this is your SPIRIT having been changed, or whether it is the Holy Ghost uncreated Life of God in your spirit, or maybe it's both. I used to have this, AND I WANT IT BACK! Ever since I denounced Jesus for something stupid, I MISS this... something precious... I got from Jesus in jail, in Nov, 2014. I keep begging forgiveness for having denounced Him, but Jesus is seeming to let my faith slowly deteriorate. Will He EVER forgive me, or have I committed an unpardonable sin unto death? I look back with sunshiney pleasure on the years 2015 - 2107, before I denounced. I ask, was I fully born again, or did I simply have the Word of God in me WORKING ME towards full Salvation. PLEASE pray Jesus give it back to me! I have learned my lesson, and am ready to drop all my sins and let Him take the wheel.

There are lots of people who completely turn away from God only for God to turn towards them and bring them back to repentance. God loves you and he will forgive you if you ask him for it, no matter what the sin. The only unpardonable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and denouncing Jesus and denying all truth until you die. Obviously you have repented and turned back towards God which is exactly what God's will for you is. God will forgive you, it was his plan, it's his nature. Now all you have to do is forgive yourself and move on in your walk with Jesus, ask for the holy spirit to be in you and to pick up where you left off.

@@kolehollis5852 Been doing that for 2 years, and God is slowly moving away. I am hanging on for dear life, but He is throwing me under the bus. I have been begging Jesus for TWO years to forgive me of this one sin of renouncing Him, against a slight plea in me to NOT do so. GOD LET ME COMMIT THIS SIN UNTO DEATH, so what does it say for His love for me? If I have committed this sin unto death? HIS LOVE FOR ME WAS NOT REALLY LOVE! It sure was REAL when I had it, and I wish I could get it back: been begging for it back for 2 years now, but... is love for me did not "endure to the end" with ME and my sins! I WANT HIM BACK, but He will not take me back! The Spirit has left the building and I am now abandoned. God hates me, and Jesus hates me. Last year He used to incessantly berate me, SCREAMING inside my spirit, over and over and over again, "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU, YOU FILTHY WRETCH! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" I tried to read His Words in the book of John, and somehow my spirit knew that the One Who said those red-letter words in John WAS THE SAME ONE screaming in my spirit, "I HATE YOU!" It felt like Jesus was telling me in my spirit one morning, "I loved you once, just not with an everlasting love. I just did not elect you." Once last year when I was pleading for forgiveness, I felt His Spirit telling me, "Tho you repent for 1,000 years I will NEVER forgive you!" Yes, it was my fault, for renouncing Him that second time, when I felt His Spirit begging me to not do so. It was a slight plea in me. Oh why was God not loud THEN? Oh why did He not put the fear in me THEN, instead of just giving me a pissy whiny slight plea, like a boy band singer, I WOULD that He had given me a LOUD WARNING PLEA like a HARD ROCK SINGER. JESUS! I need you! I want you! You have hardened me and made my wound incurable! JESUS, YOU TOLD ME ONCE so lovingly and forgivenly in my thoughts, that night in 2017, after I repented of one of my blasphemous rages against you. You told me so lovingly in my thoughts, "You're not getting rid of me," as I felt that inner goodness FROM YOU (NOT FROM ME) inside of me, that newness of life, that something precious. YOU TOLD ME I WAS NOT GETTING RID OF YOU! So, Dear Jesus, if I end in hell despite my pleas for forgiveness, I WILL POINT MY FINGER IN YOUR FACE AND CALL YOU OUT TO BE A LIAR! YOU TOLD YOUR FIRST LIE TO ME! You DID let me get rid of you, so you GOT TO COME BACK TO ME, or you are a LIAR! If not, and you don't come back, then maybe that means You are not real in the first place, and I'd rather that be the truth than for me to have to burn forever in the lake of fire. I'd rather you forgive me and come back to me, but... You allowed me to commit this Great Transgression. If Jesus is a liar and is not going to keep His Word (to NOT let me get rid of Him), and if He is too hard-up to forgive me, I may as well enjoy as much sinning as I can. I don't want to sin but with Jesus gone I am lonely, empty, depressed, missing Him. @@oldclassicwildmanchris2007 As long as you aren't holding a grudge on him and you forgive yourself, let go of the past and accept God's grace, he will forgive you, he must. GOD is working through me to tell you a lot of what your going through is self inflicted and is the devil deceiving you. God's spirit doesn't say some of those bad things you told me he said. The devil can try to pretend to be the holy spirit as well. This strategy gets to a lot of people and it sounds to me like you fell victim to it as well. Do you believe God works through others to do his will? Because always said it is not be but the father who worketh through me for his purpose. Who ever said "your will be done" from that point on I'd allowing God's will for their life which is better than our own. Obviously we still have a choice but I know because of this God makes things happen and speaks through others. I believe it is God's will for me to have seen this video and seen your comment so I can help you. I believe God telling you he loves you and wants you back and any deception the devil has brought over you about the way God feels about you is utterly false. I believe he wants you to know this is just one of the devil's strategies to bring torment in our life. He also wants you to know he can try to impersonate the holy spirit. The devil will never tell you something good, it will always be wrong and bring confusion and pain. God is a God of love and peace. God wants you to know these things and he is speaking to you though me now for it is not be but the father who worketh through me. You can relax and be free, you can repent and accept Gods forgiveness for this is his will. You don't have to let the devil cause you any more suffering. You can be free and at peace in God's grace becuase it's a FACT that GOD WILL FORGIVE YOU if you REPENT which means to TURN AWAY from your sinful ways and PURSUE PURITY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS and ASK FOR FORGIVENESS for your sins.

@@oldclassicwildmanchris2007 Hey man, just saw this comment. You may want to test whether that voice is the Holy Spirit or another spirit. Jesus said in the gospel of John that he does not judge now but invites people to salvation and second Peter says he delays his coming in hope that people come to repentance. The words you quoted are words of judgement, which, in my understand, the Lord withholds until the day of judgment. Now is the time of grace. The way that Jesus fought the devil was to declare truth, the Words of the living God, and to stand in the day of conflict. It sounds like you are in a period of conflict. He has not left us powerless but given us what we need to be strong in him. "Put on the full armor of God." You can say, "I have been given his precious blood." And even meditate on it as you say precious, because that is your deliverance. How can the devil stand against it? But if there is anything lingering as a reason that the devil has a hold on you, you may need action in that. Such as, "if you do not forgive others your Heavenly Father will not forgive you." So if you want mercy, give it, and nothing will prevent you from having it yourself from the Lord. Or as Zaccheus said, "if I have defrauded anyone I restore it fourfold" and the Lord said "today salvation has come to this house." The amount of a fourfold restoration is not a law (as far as I know), but the principle is to consider anything holding us back as worthless as trash (Paul's words in Philippians 3), and to give up things is an act of exchanging ownership of our own lives for the Lord's ownership over us. We can give up our pride, money, etc. freely as an act of treasuring our life with God ahead and counting as nothing and letting go of whatever is behind. It's like the parable of the man who sold all he had to buy the field with the treasure he found in it. Whoever wants to be a disciple should count the cost. If the cost is nothing in comparison, then it's no real burden upon our shoulders to obey and follow after him. If this is what you want, then pursue it. If action is required, then try to do it confidently, not as though you have the condensation of the law on your back, but as one who has been given the gift of salvation. Because, since without works faith is dead, faith exists in motion. It's not that you earn forgiveness by your deeds, but forgiveness and obedience are two sides of the same coin. We are purchased by his blood, not to do our will, but his, whatever that looks like in each of our situations. Freedom looks like belonging to God and his will. The devil would seek for us to be bound.

Just as there are different instruments in a orchestra, there are different ways of praising the Lord in what you do, in everything you do, and not everyone has the same tasks, or the same rewards for that matter. We are all unique, and not everyone on this planet is as unique as the Lord's people. That's not to say nobody else has things that are unique about them, but that if you are a christian, God loves you for who you are and it's not about following the pack or trying to fit in, but about salvation and righteousness. So this is also saying that there is a uniqueness that is holy. But isn't that great that it has to be a song that is known and can't be learned or taught..

In Christ crucified and Resurrected not of thyself we have faith and believe that because over 2000 years ago he died for us is the way the truth the life and Resurrection and forgave all our sins and has told us he will never abandon us.

I also have 32 years of celibacy.

"Work out", well, God "walks" you through your working out your own Salvation, like a mother walking her son when he first starts walking. GOD has got your legs in his control, and you can walk. Without God, however, you'd fall flat on your face.

To call on the Holy Spirit for it to burn within one's self.. and be all consuming of one's being. And myself, I'm this way to the point of purity. Even above the word like it says in romans the mind in this world is corrupt, no. I see that as a matter of moderated forgiveness and not a requirement of faith. I recognize that people are corrupt. That there are corruptions in their minds.. that doesn't mean.there should be or must be or that you should try to accept that.

That's why only if you believe in Jesus Christ Blood and Resurection.

The Messiah the Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.

Our sins of past are forgiven.
