Good word pastor John,l stumbled across this lab on grumbling ,these last few seasons l have grumbled more than ever and l been about a long time, maybe a few health issues and stupid choices have made it a lot easier to sit back and moan,as Christians l believe we have our opinions and can have the odd moan but when entrenched in complaining we can remain there and this mindset can lead to despondency, depression and isolation in some cases,l am l trying to take my aches and pains to the cross, not go to bed with a sore head, pain comes in the night but JOY comes in the morning.,the lord knows what has happened, knows what’s happening and knows what is going to happen so l give myself a break, it’s a heavy yoke and can become a stronghold, cast it down and take your thoughts capitive bringing them into obidience to Christ, thankyou pastor John of l ever needed a word it was this,Precious Jesus thankyou you know everything about us but you still love us,let us become empty to be filled with you,you alone are holy, worthy mighty to save. That you conquered sin and death so we could become no longer slaves to sin and workers of this world, let us not be conformed but transformed by the renewing of our minds,Lord of heaven and earth great is your faithfulness unto us who love and put you first, the name above all names Christ Jesus Messiah Hosanna in the highest Amen

I love that!!! I Absolutely Love That!!! Pastor John, it is not only that you have designed this portion of Desiring God, giving us all an example to pursue in preaching and teaching the word of God, but... that Desiring God intro as well!?! It does so much for me. Something so simple, so meaningless when put next to your voice of kindness, loving sincerity and faithful hunger and thirst for us to desire Jesus Christ more than anything, that it can somehow convey a deep sense of preaching and teaching and peace, and tranquility and knowledge and wisdom of God's word. That sound is more legendary than the "gdung, gdung!" of Law and Order... more stirring than the Stephen J Cannell scene at every end of the A-Team of his script flying ( you just knew greatness of a show and the sadness of that week's episode ending...) I'm am struggling, sad and troubled. Wanting to be freed from despair and doubt and unemployment; knowing I'm being pushed to pursue Him more... And I open your teaching up on Desiring God... and that simple, beautiful intro to every post beginning and ending. God bless you in that all of this word, all of the comfort and assurance and peace and hunger and thirst to listen and fatherly presence and so much more embedded deep into something so simple and seemingly insignificant... Not to rush any of us off, yet to say this: may this simple sound as prayer - may you be given to hear that tune entering the glory of the LORD! In an instant! A transition from life to death to glory before thy King!

Demons want you to focus on anything but God. Every time we’re grumbling and complaining we are not thinking about Our Lord

A Godly person can grumble for a long time..until they go to Jesus..Obey His commandments..and then He Shows you the Real Truth. Religion and Church are not based on Jesus..they are based on the world the same as everything else..Your intellectual and economic status. If you are truly humble in position in this world..you will be treated just as Jesus was. Mistreated. Dont ever expect any different..because it will not happen..it does not matter how Good you are. You will be used and abused by those in any position of authority or those of higher economic levels. I am being mistreated by a three year old because she catches the attitude from those around her. Church is just another world organization.. Forever learning about Jesus..but Never coming to the Truth. At least the world is Honest. I have been treated much worse in church than in the world.
