This encourages me so much as I watch the Lord generate more and more freedom in Him. I have not arrived, but I know He will complete it as He makes me the actor of His obedience. I pray His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven!

This is the most recent video by Desiring God, so I thought I could get this burning question I have answered so I can finally be at peace. You might be shocked to find an atheist leaning agnostic in this neck of the woods (don’t worry, I’m not gonna start a debate!) but here I am! I’m gonna start this off by saying that I am going to hypothetically believe god is real to help my question be understood more clearly, so whenever I mention god, it is in the context of my question. I was diagnosed with an Anxiety disorder and I have been battling god related Anxiety for years now. There have been incidents recently where I have had little things in my everyday life change from what I once knew them, and it may sound silly, but one of the biggest things that gets on my nerves is hearing something in music that I haven’t heard before. Because of this disorder that I have, I have the mindset where if something changes, than I cannot listen to the said changes in songs ever again. I know I sound crazy, but you would not get it unless you have the exact medical condition that I have, so I do not need anyone judging or being ignorant. Anyway, Music is a big part of my life, so when something in it changes and my anxiety and paranoia kick in, I cannot listen to it again. Being the rational person that I am, I assume it’s just my mind playing tricks on me; but there is a nagging thought that I’m having where I’m wondering “What if it is god, who is doing this and causing me pain.” (It doesn’t seem like such a condition can be bothering, but as I said before, you would not understand it). I understand that God interacts with us if he needs to show us a lesson that can improve our lives, but IF this is god perpetuating my fears and paranoia, the. I do not know what I did that requires a lesson. Being an Atheist/Agnostic, all I want is for him (IF he is real, in the context of my question.) to leave me be. If someone could answer this as best as they can instead of giving me reasons why to believe in god, that would be great!

I don' t know if this will help you but I'll give it a try. [Preface] Due to the sin in humanity (rebellion against God: Genesis 3 ESV), we were separated from Him (God, as he is a giver of life) and sin has caused death to both spiritually and physically. So disease, illness and abnormalities has corrupted what was originally a perfect human body. Given to our own devices (Romans 1:18-32 ESV) we succumb to ailments of the flesh and the mind, sin brings both a spiritual and physical death. [Topic] So given the context of what you are suffering from, God does not show us a lesson that can improve our lives. But God may allow bad things to happen to us in order that we might seek Him. Say you want God to leave you alone, you may or may not suffer more ailments, but one fate we all have is that we will die. You will pay for all that you have done wrong. And you won't suffer only physically, but your soul will also be in eternal torment. That is the natural progression for humanity, we stand condemned and destined to die (John 3:16-21 specifically verse 18). However, God has made a way for us to be saved and have eternal life. We stand condemned but He sacrificed His Son, Jesus Christ to pay for our sin and resurrected, defeating death, that we may be able to live with Him. So turn to Him, repent that you may find peace and hope in Him. I hope this helps explain a few things, and those are a few passages in the bible you could look up. God bless. P.S. For us as Christians, even when we do suffer, we have hope in Christ (Romans 5:1-5 ESV) "Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."

I appreciate the help, guys, I really do. However, I believe my question was lost in my own chaotic need to get it answered; so I will condense it. My condensed version is this: If I’m a Non believer, God WILL NOT purposely bend strings (if you will) to teach me a lesson. Instead, he will allow things to happen to lead me to him?

Clayton Rogers I’ve heard that (in terms of your religion) we are like clay, and God molds us in his image (correct me if I’m wrong).
