NBC means a contractor who spends their own money is buying it. CBRN means a politician who has no sense of money asked a bureaucrat with no sense of money to buy it. Usually, there's not much of a difference, but one makes people think it's better because it was initially bought for a much higher price.

I wish i saw this channel before I ordered my Mira Saftey CM-7M. Wanted a functional gas mask that was also useful for Cosplay. Not thrilled, did homework, but apparently not in the same place.

hey man by the way I actually found a non Soviet 40mm filter I don't know what type make or model I found it at a flea market that fits my gp5 and actually seals so yeah I guess it works also bought one of them 3M masks you were talking about using it now that that things a lot better it does not obscure your vision as much thanks your videos are very informative again I am glad I found your Channel

There’s so many choices on eBay it’s overwhelming. I want to get a small collection. But what do you recommend to start with for something to save my life and I can get cheap filters on eBay? I prefer something newer? But also what’s the cheapest mask that’s still reliable even if it’s very old?

that's very cool I got a ww1 German gm17 in mint condition that fully works and creates a perfect seal still worth $900 USD I got for $190 and My friend got a ww1 Russian Zaleski kummant mask for $300 worth over $2k. there's only 1 vid on all of KZread of his mask and I've only seen 2 owned by people online and 1 in a museum

i have found my m65z mask with gp5 filter for 5€, both are working, just don't know if it was too cheap

Good video and well said the Mickey Mouse mask will probably go up in price in few years as many will be in bad condition after storing in the attic and also there in a way better quality than the civilian mask of ww2 as the flutter valve and the more adjustable straps and the removable filter that screws off.

Cheers, yeah most WW2 masks will go up in value simply as the ones kept badly deteriorate as you said. I imagine the Mickey Mouse mask was better quality because they had to make the parts smaller, and less of them had to be produced.

Probably the Nokia M61. Either in the V2 or V3 configuration. The V2 happened to be my very first gas mask.

Chromium is in most modern filters, you can't really avoid it. Asbestos was stopped in the West in the 1950s at the latest, so any modern Western filter is safe. Russia and China kept using it for a lot longer so I would avoid any pre year 2000 Russian/Chinese filters.

I am a CBRN. Radiological refers to dirty bombs, malicious use of an X-ray machine, poison, ect. Nuclear refers to Atomic Bombs. The chemical corps is becoming more focused on Radiological weapons hens the name change.

Which filter? Most masks come with filters, if not just get them from eBay etc. RD40/Nato 40mm filters.

Depends what mask you want it for, you could get one of those small Chinese filters that don't work properly for a visual thing, or get a Polish FP-5 filter for using with GOST masks.

All masks are equal when it comes to radiation protection because you can only block alpha and beta radiation. Gamma will always go through protective gear.

Not really, you either have sites that massively overcharge for masks, for example, one site sells Soviet masks for $200+ when you can find the same masks on eBay for $30. Other than that army surplus stores often stock masks but I find they often cost more than eBay as well and sometimes separate the kit to sell for even more.

Right now a lot guys try to bid gas mask to $140 -200 lol. Usually s10 gas mask around $120 or less than, a lot people try to bid for price so hight and buy used one so ridiculous

I really want to get an Avon S10. But the lowest price I've found is around $100. Should I look for a different mask or keep looking? I live in the US

Yeah it's like a weird plastic cover over what should be the diaphragm. Basically it's a cover with a line running through it over top of the diaphragm.

Any NATO CBRN filter is made to the same standard.

The one at 3:12 is the same one i have.

This has nothing to do with this, but I just saw some guy on a tv show, and he basically basket-wove a casing of bacon around a ball of vegetables, and slow-cooked it for three hours, then regular cooked it, as well. It doesn't seem too healthy.

Yeah that's a good price. Probably a GP-5 though, which isn't actually a military mask but a civil defence mask.

You can use NATO filters too, if you get a chinese hose. But test if it is sealed before you trust it blindly.

Soviet hoses will work properly with any Soviet mask. For Nato masks, you will have to try and find a hose but few nations use then.

Not true it's just the new terminology for the same thing, as in radiological can refer to lab samples/radiotherapy/x-rays etc rather than just a nuke going off.

I'm not a fan of the GP-7 or PMK. They both have an annoying inner face seal that gets in the way of your eyes. For 36 euros you should be able to get much better NATO masks.

Most of the Soviet masks are cheap, less than £20 each. I don't have any post-Soviet masks so I can't comment on the quality of them.

P3 does not defend against tear gas... For pepper spray it works. Teargas is CS, CN or CR.
