You are so correct in not removing excess of dirt when building houses, especially swimming pools For example, I worked for one year with a company that installed swimming pools, and I noticed that when we had a service call several months later to one of our pools, the cement deck showed signs of cracking due to ground underneath settleing, even though we did our best to compact the dirt that was removed and replaced before pouring the deck and other areas. Often, I would get a call to homeowner that had a pool installed several years previously and always, always, there were signs of the deck having cracks. Look at your driveway at you home, most likely after a few years you will notice several cracks beginning to show. You just cannot pack the earth you remove and replace, better those hundreds of years of nature's foundation. Walk around your house and notice cracks where your house has settled on the foundation. Say what you will, this guy knows his work and his skills are almost to perfection. Give him a few more years to work out all the kinks and he will build you a better home than anyone in the Philippines or elsewhere.

Hopefully with your correct method of construction, the workers and especially the Foreman/Leadman will learn so much and use it in their future contracts. Like the use of Concrete Vibrator, proper way of Splicing Rebars, Roughing Ins of Electrical and Plumbing (customarily electrical conduits will be done after the blockwork, hacking/chessiling thereby weakining the structure. Your workers will work better since they can see that you yourself is working so hard. Kudos to you and keep up with the good work.....many would be future owners will likewise learn from your vlogs....

Buying the mini excavator is a very good decision for various reasons. The people questioning it doesn't know what they talking about. Also since you planning to build more properties in the future it's a wise decision at this time. This machine has various other fittings that you could get as time goes on, I think even a cement mixer/drum, vibrating compactor etc etc. There is 75 different fittings to this machine all of which is labour saving. So pouring and mixing cement/concrete again a huge labour saving. I'm a builder and for me it's a no brainer. There is someone else here on you tube that is also building a house for himself and I suggested he consider doing it a year ago. He replied at the time and said the Labour in Phillipines not high.. You had to see the progress on. His house, it was a nightmare.. Workers were working 1 day and staying away 2 days, even now he has issues with workers. His still busy with his house a year later. If he had acquired a mini excavator there would have been no need for this labour. I recommended a machine from his home town Australia (Avant). But yes I think you wise and I'm certain with your mindset you will achieve great success in the Phillipines. Good luck and God Bless you and your family!!!

You are a good leader/supervisor Rick! Most people would not put in those laborer’s shoes shoes and they will never know the true meaning of hard work. I myself love to DIY, but when I do, I normally don't do it just so I could cut cost on materials. If anything, I would spend almost close to what a professional would charge me for the job, but my materials and machines or tools used to do the project are the same if not better than the pros. Plus, it looks super fun operating that mini excavator hahaha I could move dirt all day with that thing!

I understand you. The investments that you have put into equipment are so minimal and will save you so much in time and money, example, your abrasive chop saw will cut 1/2"rebar in 15 seconds, a man with a hacksaw will take 3-5 minutes , add that up over 100 pieces of rebar, 25 min verses 8.3 hours. All of the machinery you have purchased, I feel have been very wise. All of the build videos from the Philippines I have observed, I have had the same question every time, " aren't tools available? " . these small investments you have made are going to save you a fortune and make everything go faster. I feel your mini excavator was an excellent move. Not only can it dig, but it can be used as a mini crane. Smart! P.S. while it's new see if you can find a welder that can hard face your bucket.

another educational and humorous vlog. I love the fact that you explain what you're doing and why you buy equipment. It makes a lot of sense to me. I'd do the same thing. I look forward to each one of your vlogs. to me, they just seem too short. I guess I'm just really into watching what you're doing on your property. Keep it up.👍👍👍

The city of Surrey bc and Armstrong bc Canada had their new engineers make all contractors dig down an extra foot and fill it back up with compacted gravel, both of the citys were on glacial till and needless to say every home that was done this way had the foundations or basements shift move crack and leak.

Armstrong Fam you are investing something that heartless people don't see. Those who commented like that, those are the relatives of Hitler and WEF people😂😂 they don't care other people suffering physically. That's what they are full of arrogance and greed... Just do what you think is best and profitable not only for you but your workers as well... you're not only helping them lessen there work loads but also helping your pockets save from labor costing. Ingat-ingat lang, hwag pansinin mga kritikong baluktot...😍😍

the over excavating philosophy makes really good sense,. since the ground is compact and untouched around your dug out hole whatever is sitting in there would be pretty solid.

You should consider selling the other lot to your son if he’s interested. It would be an investment property for him and you could spend quality time with him when he’s available. He could rent out the property when he’s away. Just a thought.👍

Makes sense to be extra carefully when digging. Espescially if you are trying to build a two story building on a bitnof soft soil with a lake underneath
