Mama Donna did you try to look into epoxy flooring? will it cost more or less compared to tiles and polished concrete?

Amazing home, I really don’t understand why you guys would build your dream home, to just put it up for sale, I do realise that you are trying to expand your business, but after putting your soul and hard work into it, boggles my mind 🤔❤️👍🇦🇺

Because. We don't want to be under a bank or financing. We are determined to do this on our own. But we have no plans to try to build our own home yet for another 3 years. Instead. May e we will be buying an rv trailer to live in to love from site to site

There are in the Philippines good contractors. But you have to pay more and cheap materials

We laid all the tiles diagonally in our German build over 20 years ago... Still looks beautiful, and it looks much more elegant than regular squared install... Also had to pay more, as the time to lay and cuts were many more than normal... But, I still am happy that we spent the extra money... Some other things we did extra were extra wall sockets in all areas of the house, plumbing outside front and back for watering the gardens, windows with screens, and etc. Later we installed a sauna, whirlpool, bar, and other extras... We could do these upgrades as we'd planned for the power, water, and drainage requirements... The design of the kitchen is excellent... Overall loving the way it's coming together... Cheers from Dave in Dubai (for the moment)... This build is making me even more anxious to get there and get started with our build(s)... 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍

Hello Mr Armstrong, looks savvy bro,,, when I had my father in-laws church tiling,,, the two contractors just two guys used the slow curing concrete for the mold,, about an inch from the main floor,,, it worked out great,,, 1400 sq feet with a 300 sq stage,,, I never had done a flooring like that before but these two guys were provincers,,, and did a tremendous job putting the tiling with the same design of your flooring for the middle isle, then the surrounding area with the cracked marble yellowish tiling all premier tiling from Italy,,, was a great project that worked out,,, I was amazed they only used the original slow curing concrete for the pasting the tile,,, hey great job guy,,,

Thank goodness your finishing walls and ceilings before lying the tiles ! Good job..any reason apart from safety using bullnose on the countertop..very old school look. Great job 👏

I like most your walling, using AAC, the end result after skim coating, was phenomenal. However, I hope you don’t mind my comment on the way your guys did on applying thin set on the floor and the back side of tile. As a tiler, I use the teeth side (regulator) applying thin set on the floor, just 1 passing (not going back and forth) from edge to edge of the size of the tile; then, the back of the tile I use the straight side to butter the back of tile, never use the teeth to butter, otherwise your thin-set is over supplied, this will allow for the tile to move, especially when there’s no tile to stop the movement. I use spacers (it’s a choice to how big or narrow the gap of tile) as I lay down the tile. Once you have thin-set on the floor, and back of tile is buttered, one slide of the tile is enough towards the other tile using a spacer, the only thing the tiler to observe is the level of tile next to the other by using “pluck”. By the way, I do “dry fitting” before tiling, meaning, I laid down all the tiles, either diagonal or straight, placing 2 spacers on each sides of the tile, cutting all necessary tiles that go at the edge or against walls. Then, starting at the inner most the room, I start tiling, going backward to avoid stepping on the newly laid down tiles, cause thin-set remains wet and takes a day to cure before one can step on it.

That being said the lot is for sale ….. if unsold when we get to the Philippines then we will look to see about building something. Have to be honest, I really don't like "modern design" in a home, but those drop lights over the table are making me rethink that. Those are gorgeous! And really make the whole area pop. Even in an unfinished room they look amazing. Your wife has an excellent design eye. Love your vids...if you could only release more often (please).

I like that you are changing to the taunt cable look for the stairs and railing. another thing I have done for clients for a balcony is 2" x 4" hog wire or even 2" or 3" square hog wire or panels for the balcony with a pipe or square rail top. just some suggestions. keep up the good work

I’m so glad you tackled that old tile-setting technique that’s so old and not right. I cringe every time I see on KZread that awful, time and labor-consuming tile-setting technique. It’s also dirty and at the end the tiles tend to crack. It’s an old habit that’s difficult to break. I’m hoping that those house builders will take notice of your way, which is the right way to set tiles. What are the materials you used though to set the tiles on the floor and maybe later on the walls?👍🙏🏾

Hi ! Always amazed by what you achieved and the quality of it. Bravo ! 👏 I just have a small comment about your glass wall replaced by wires. I did that in my house and, as beautiful as it is, it takes a lot of dust and dirt on it. Even inside the house. You will have to clean very frequently the wires, one by one, just to keep it spotless. Is it less work than the glass ? I am not totally sure. Just a thought…😊 Congrats again for the job done !

Hi When I see dry pack under tiles I shake my head ,will never give good bond. I use flexible adhesive contains polymers. Fortunately our Cebu house the tiles are all thin set the tiler made a good job. Some adhesives I have used contain rubber and it seems quite good adhesive. The other thing laying on concrete is be sure there no efflorescence usall white could be etched with acid to prepare before tiles or paint needs to neutralize with alkaline as well. The tiles look real good but laying diagonal lot of work.

Have you received any offer for this house yet ? How much and out of curiosity, how wide is the staircase and how is the access road to the house going so far ? Is it fave access road and how far to the main highway ? Is there a google earth view we could see ? Please and thank you.

In a situation now in Palawan where our new home is complete (we're moving there next year) and water is coming either into the house through the concrete slab or maybe and hopefully something easier like some sealing needed on the outside, but I feel its underneath. Spent a fortune to par to sub par work. Want to fly to Palawan to check out my place and give your professional opinion?

The thing that I really like when you build concrete furniture is that for us men, It's a whole lot less to deal with when your Asawa wants to move things around. 🤣🤣🤣

as a tiler this made me so happy lol. Silicone outdoors isn't as effective as polyurethane, it's a lot thicker and better suited for outdoors.

I am making the assumption that you are available to provide contracting services? If that's true, that's an awesome benefit to someone who wants to build in the PI because your attention to detail is second to none! I love watching your build videos! I do have a question. Here in the USA, there's a process for finishing the walls with a rounded edge. Obviously this is safer for the elderly and small children, but I was wondering have you researched doing this in your builds in the PI? Just a thought, but I'd love to hear your answer!

Yes we are indeed licensed construction company and licensed contractors here. Unfortunately. To round off corners her would require extensive work. And it hadn't been done because the traditional methods of using chb but in our case aac. In states we use sheet rock which is easier to use corner bead in
