Before & After 1st Floor House Finishing | S02 Ep28

This week's vlog is a before and after progress of our 1st floor skim coat progress and overall finishing. We have continued to check off small projects and have now begun to work our way upstairs. We are currently making a few design changes to the upstairs but nothing drastic.

    I love it when our dear fellowmen recognize your valuable contributions to the society in any way, shape or form and drop by to show their appreciation. I myself definitely feel the same way. Richard, keep up the good work, be safe and healthy because you still have many things to share to ignoramus like us, lol! Mrs. Armstrong, I like the 2-burner stove idea as well - it makes sense! Kudos to both of you!🤗🙏🏾

    What I do with the burners is I cut out holes from an aluminum foil and lay it down to protect the surface. You spend on aluminum foil but save on detergent. You also preserve the original finish. You can save the aluminum foil and reuse it over and over again. Richard needs more t-shirts.

    Here in ormoc with my wife and kids working on our place now. Just came from wilcons and hour ago to grab some water filtration to solve the sediment problems im having. So when the family is done cooking i gotta redue the entire water system from the well into the house. 5 micron filters and reverse osmosis. Really didnt want that since i wanted a vacation and not a "business trip"...

    Make a dishwashing soap that you could use for everything, in washing dishes, pans, sink and rest rooms even in sink and toilet. Just 1 cup of dishwashing soap or any soap it depends where you use it then add 1 cup of water, 1 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of salt then stir it to dissolve the the solid then put it in sprayers then use it with your scrubbing pad. Results is amazing.

    Keep doing what you are doing. When you are done with your house, open up a small construction business and make it official-register it. You can make it big with your knowledge and know-how with current tools available. Most of Philippines' skilled workers are working abroad. What is left, you can impart your knowledge to the local workers. Creating a business, hiring locals providing income for them, paying taxes to the Gov't and attracting foreigners to settle and retire to your area is a win win situation for all of you. I wish you success in every way you choose but take care of your health as well so you can enjoy the fruit of your many labor for a long time.

  • @TheRichardArmstrong

    @TheRichardArmstrong

    11 ай бұрын

    Actually. We didn't paint it white. Just did white steel. BUT!!!!! We will be removing our roof for a different product called UPVC. I will be featuring this in an upcoming vlog Not only does it have a 30 year life span. But it's also heat resistant. Meaning. No need to paint. It doesn't allow heat absorption and doesn't require insulation beneath. It also deaden the sound of rain unlike a metal roof!!! It's also cheaper then conventional steel roof and stronger. Way stronger. Not sure where you live bit the company is located in Bulacan and its 322 pesos per meter. Its definitely worth the cost vs spending money on paint and always having to repaint!

    I’m a big fan of the blocks compared to the concrete blocks, but i will say little concerning seeing how quickly the chainsaw can cut thru with very little effort,it’s to me a possible security concern, at least with the concrete blocks you have rebar. I guess maybe pros and cons to either type. I don’t think the hollow blocks are that bad if you are doing the proper mix and making them yourself. One of my concerns with ACC is the longevity of the metal brackets , will they hold over time? Being in a country with earthquakes etc. I’m not 100% sold on the system, i know as far as labor and time it’s much cheaper. I know i have heard of some issues once they hit the decade mark ( cracking in the joints and shifting, sometimes causing the walls to be uneven, or leaning instead of being upright. Also wondering how the other solar system you guys had is working compared to eco flow , haven’t seen it around since a couple months back. I have lots of trust in Richard and i plan on using many of his ideas , but i also know it takes time to understand exactly how things work for the long term, it’s a slippery slope when your whole life in a different climate we were taught different building methods , and really how do we truly know when they are using new building practices in like I mentioned in a different environment. Stay safe and healthy Many blessings for the entire family and staff.

  • @TheRichardArmstrong

    @TheRichardArmstrong

    11 ай бұрын

    It's not the cheapest. But its the best. 1. Fire resistance up to 8 hours. 2. Thermal resistance- which means heat stays out and cool air stays in! Saving money on energy cist. 3. Sound proofing 4. Ease of use 5. Longevity of material vs wood, steel and chb. It's not cheapest up front But over time. It saves money and is more earthquake and natural disaster resistant. The interior walls are 4 inch No different than a 2x4 and 5/8 gypsum board on both sides. Except This is sturdier!

    My question is does the house not come with public plumbing? Or is bathroom pipes not available like it is in the west? How do build a house without plumbing 🪠 ? Or you guys have to use septic tank?
