She uses her own personal story of resilience and leadership as an African American woman in the male-dominated transportation industry to show how civic leadership can lead to the diversity and inclusion modern companies are working towards. Managers who are engaged in servant leadership and have philanthropic responsibilities are more fulfilled and use problems-solving skills in civic space to add value for the organization.

Just had time to listen and I am so glad I finally got to hear this! This is inspirational! Inspiration works wonders when it penetrates to the core of your being allowing you to arrive at a point where a tangible successful action comes forth as a direct result.
I am inspired by your remarks, my friend. While I've been away from Memphis for 5 years, now, I was in Memphis for 5 years. Defining the immutable values that are deep within each of us, expresses our humanity. You humanity, your humility, and your avoidance of even a hint of profanity (for your kids), stand as beacons by which others can be guided. You lit up my life this morning, Roquita. Thank you for being true to your deep, inner self. In that, you demonstrate the warmth, faith and loving kindness that highlight how the trials you face, or that anyone faces, can make us stronger individuals, team members, and citizens.
