Cool gun

It was sometimes known as the Spit Gun, as it sounded like someone spitting. Yes, it Was that quiet, just watched another video of demonstration fire, & toward the end the guy walks past his target & does a quick up & shoot, drop the gun to the side; his footsteps on the gravel almost drown out the gunfire.

i wish bloody nail guns were that quiet.

See the big void around the barrel before the baffles start? That's where all the gases well, most of them escape to...and the baffles also help immensely. The wipers suppress the noise and the baffles do the same but the baffles serve the same purpose as dispersing gas and disrupting the flow of it.

Wait nvm, the trigger is connected to this block that's around the magazine, and it has grooves, so as you pull, the catch moves down the grooves unlocking the sear, and moving the firing pin forward. It's just really hard to see here.

@Hehe XD silencer and suppressor means the same thing in the gun world. no need to start a debate. its different names for the same thing. you can call a trigger an actuator if you want idgaf

I know it's closed bolt to make it quieter, but I feel like they could have made a simpler semi auto, or even simpler full auto version that's pretty quiet too.

the welrod specifically exists only in museums and private collections now and you arent likely to ever have the option of buying one. however, there is the B&T VP-9 veterinary pistol, which is almost identical. It is chambered in 9mm, however, so its not nearly as quiet (about 130 dB as opposed to the welrod's 73dB). If youre a US resident, it would be difficult to import one for a variety of reasons.

You could pay $200 to get a class 2 license, pay $200 and write a request to the BATFE, wait months to years, hope they approve you, and then build one from scratch at your own expense.

@@Tyr1001 There's strong evidence to suggest the secret service still uses them. They were definitely still in service in 1991, and they're probably still in use to this day. That being said, I don't think you can get one for yourself, primarily cause we have heavy gun restrictions in the UK.

My biggest wish is a 3D printer that can print metal parts, so there's no need any lathe or drill.

cleveque They do, but only if you pull the back. It’s to allow the assassin to eliminate the target and leave no trace.

When the gun goes off the gas blows the bolt back but what makes the bolt move forward to compress the firing pin spring . there is something missing

The gas doesn't blow it back, there are blocks of metal stopping it from moving. You had to manually twist the end, pull it out, then push it back in, it's a bolt action not a semi automatic.

dude.. throw out your idea of a suppressor being an attachable object. just image taking a old brick cellphone from the 80s and cramming a ipod nano in it in a way so its one circuit board. its now an built in feature. it does both things while being one. ... its like explaining modern technology to a cave man... fkn crust on a pizza.

It's just animation, you have to the bolt action manually. All that for the incredible noise suppression, it is a assassination gun for a reason, not for field combat. Edit: rare footage of the gun test. /watch?v=Uj0ZQurdY_Q
