@@ManannanmacLir69 I was born in Detroit, was plinking with my .22 at ten and grew up enjoying guns so I get ya, but ... my reality is that I find that living in a culture with far fewer guns gives me more freedom, not less.

When I met my wife she had a Spanish guitar with a neck that was broken loose from the body. Since I had two perfectly fine specimen myself I decided to give it a go with superglue, removed the strings and glued it together. Then added the strings and put the guitar in our crewroom at work for anybody to use it. That was 12 years ago now and it is still solid as a rock. Being a technician I see what our crew wrecks on a daily basis and I do trust superglue on wood 100%!!

​@@davidmccann2633No, you really just want to anchor it, you can't really glue a magnet with cyanoacrylate, it does not have tixotrophic properties on such a material.

The beauty of this is that you could lengthen the barrel and tension...depending on the materials

Personally, I'd have just used 2 Chicago screws. If you joined them together on the top of the barrel with a little bridge piece of metal, you could even have them double as a front sight for the gun as well. Then it's just as easy as unscrewing the underbarrel side of the screws & lifting both posts out as a whole unit by the front sight.

Excellent craftsmanship! You're a real gunsmith! I would want to buy this amazing crossbow!

-I'm old now but when I was small in the early 60s some teenagers, some who were in streetgangs then made Zip Guns. I think they started making them in the 1930s up to the 50s to early 60s. They'd sneak & make 'em in wood or metal shop in school. Some guys did pretty good, some were shitty, but with a homemade wood pistol grip, rubber bands, a nail, old car antennas shortened up & a .22 bullet, you could wound somebody & at worst kill 'em. & if the job was crap the gun might either blow up or fall apart in your hands. But this here is a nice nail gun job.
