    Liz, I am upset with you! I had planned to video the present status of the dam tomorrow (July 25) but your tour was so complete and well done that anything that I could do would not be even 1/3 as good as yours. Besides, that soothing voice of yours is much better than my hoarse, gravely speech patterns. Some points: surprised to see that they have not fixed that escalator yet. Also did not know that the Winged Figures display was blocked and being redone. Sorry for the tourists. Hope they have carefully mapped where the granite stones showing the sky at the time of the dedication so that they can accurately assemble them again. Then, the $30 tour was closed? That is the best tour since you can see the inside of the dam itself and peer out of that little vent and look downstream, as well as get a ride in the old elevators back to the top. You did an excellent job. Like you, I have acrophobia, and hate looking down into the canyon walls. So, for all of you visitors out there, after watching this video you can better plan your trip.

    It's not going to dry up. As the water level drops, AZ and CA take increasingly large water cuts. You will find fresh winter produce less available as desert farming uses over 80% of the water. Not a good time to be a desert farmer right now.

  • @LeeBlaske

    @LeeBlaske

    @@TheBandit7613 I would think there will be HUGE political battles if drastic cuts are mandated. No one ever expected things to get as bad as they are now. Hope for the best, but nothing is certain.

  • @TheBandit7613

    @TheBandit7613

    Жыл бұрын

    @@LeeBlaske Some drastic cuts have already been enacted, more are on the way next year. If the water drops much more, they won't have physical access to the water. They can't have what's not within reach. Nevada offered to build desalination plants for California if California left more water in Lake Mead. It's in court with environmentalists trying to stop it. AZ is in the worst position. They are also draining their ground water to the point some whole towns are now without water. Some of the farms are owned by middle eastern countries that don't care about water in the US. They are growing thirsty crops like cotton and rice for god's sakes! In the desert. AZ and CA are in deep trouble. NV is fine. NV has cut water use by 21% in the last 20 years. There are no more cuts for NV.

    Stop at 6:44 and consider those that committed suicide off the dam. While living in Boulder City in the mid 60's there were two suicides'. Since Las Vegas was so close it is ascertained that some had lost their entire financial lives due to gambling and saw no other way out. There have been 96 suicides' off this dam since 1935 and last one being October 2012.

    That is very terrible and sad. And I've heard there are jumps off the Strat and other hotels too. 😰

    I'm sure there will be some "theories" about this...it does seem coincidental for sure...I don't want to speculate yet, but something doesn't seem right.

    Riddle. What's the difference between the water on both sides of the Dam? Answer. About 3 feet.

    Then they decided to release Direct Energy Weapons on the dam. Say thank you, government; For at least waiting until you left.👍

    Anyone who took the real dam tour that cost $1, this was a huge disappointment. We used to be able to walk all around the inside of the dam. I demanded my money back. At no point did the tour actually bring us inside the dam. Just tunnels blasted alongside the dam. Avoid.

    For Clark County the transmission level is considered High, so they are requiring face masks inside all government buildings.
