Yeah, a brilliant phrase! 8D Besides, Giger's initial sketches for the original Alien were so explicitly sexual (wll, not so much as being sexy, as toying with the idea of rape), they had to downplay that theme, so there actually is or at least was some of that.

Ripley and Sarah Connor. My childhood heroes. And both cried in their movies. That's how you make an awesome character--if they need to cry, let them cry! It doesn't take away from the badasses they are!

While Aliens was also action oriented, it is the only movie and sequel that still has the same horror and tension atmosphere as the first one despite that, this movie is just pure genius

Aliens is a fun rollercoaster action movie that has little to nothing of the atmosphere, horror and tension of Alien. The first is far scarier, gorier, slower and creepier.

Do you understand the new Mummy movie isn't a remake of the 1999 movie, it's barely even a remake. It's a "reimagining" (if you will) of the original 1932 film, while also being the first entry in the "universal monsters cinematic universe". Which I have a feeling will be a failure. You just can't beat the classics.

I love when Hicks, as senior military officer left (pointed out by Ripley), listens to Burke and then nods, seeming to be in agreement but says "That's what we'll do then. Take off and nuke the place from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." which was exactly RIpleys' suggestion. Reiser's expression...lol!

Essentially that is the true villain of the story, the company, many people think the creature itself is, but the story is about the evil company trying to turn the alien into a bio weapon, not about the alien itself.....

For me honestly the Alien franchise ended with Aliens and I just like to pretend that Ripley made it back safe with Newt and Hicks and 3 and 4 never happened.

A popular fan theory is that the events of Alien 3 and 4 were Ripley dreaming in Hypersleep. Makes sense if you think about it. We see her have an unbelievably real nightmare at the beginning of Aliens, and at the end Newt asks 'Can I dream?' to which Ripley replies 'All the way home'.

Hell yes. Killing Newt and Hicks off for the travesty that was Alien 3 was probably the worst decision in history. They should have gone back to Earth in Aliens 2, having missed an Alien that had clung to the Queen. It then wrecked havoc on the station where Ripley recovered and they have to try and stop it escaping down to the Earth (and they fail to do so, allowing for Aliens 3). Would have been SO MUCH BETTER.

Yes, but I remember (if I do so correctly) that the Nostromo had weapons, and they specifically discussed not using them for fear of the blood burning through the hull and sucking the oxygen, killing them all. The acidic blood was actually added into the script to give a reason why they couldn't just shoot it, and avoid a huge plothole.

best one of the Alien movies My mother used to tell me about it, when I was still too young to see it myself, and I always loved the way she would verbally recreate the scene where Ripley goes down the elevator, and takes that moment to center herself... And then she opens her eyes, its almost dead silent, and *Momma has come to bring death.* It was so cool.

I appreciate that all jokes aside, they acknowledge how awesome this movie truly is. Was my favourite movie for years.

This film is a masterpiece. It still looks great almost 40 years later- a testament to the craftsmanship they piled upon it. I tell people "There were only 2 Alien films, the original and this- nothing came after. Ripley, Hicks, and Newt rode off into the sunset and formed a happy family back on Earth. The End."
