Radar Love is one of the biggest hits any of my fellow countrymen ever wrote. Everyone in Holland knows it. Just came back from a gig at a football (soccer) club and like always, Radar Love really got them going!

I wasn’t even hatched until ‘76 so the White Lion cover was my first exposure to the song. I dug it. But then I heard the original and fell in love with it.

Hey Tom, thanks for stating what you did about not wanting to replace your playing with the playing of an idol. At age 66, I consider myself a good guitar player, having played since I was 13. I’ve been active, playing semi-professionally all my life. I certainly continue to grow as a musician constantly, but man… I hear so many stellar players, you included, and often lament,”I suck, wish I could play like that guy”! Your take on it today was very encouraging and made me think, I make good music, and there are many folks who wish they could do what I do. That, of course, is not the goal…to be better than anybody, but to be viable as a musician. Thanks for your encouragement! Really dig the show!😊

This was definitely one of my favorite ones uncle Larry. Toward the end, when you were talking about playing to the room and playing the kind of music that you want to play really spoke to me. I love these musical bullies that give you shit if you don't play some jazz crap that they dig or whatever. Everybody should do what their personality tells them to do. I say play like you play kids. And appreciate everybody else who does their own thing.

Great show Tom! When you started talking about monitors I got curious about when stage monitoring became a regular thing for big rock shows. 1969 seems to be the consensus. It must have been pretty miserable before that, especially for the singers (and drummers, not sure how they could possibly hear the band). Every time you pick it up, sounds like a song to me. Thanks again!

“Chops vs. Feel” was a great video. I love the talking and the playing. Also I’m digging the Gruhn’s round table videos. And it’s hilarious when you tell some guy who really needs it to eff-off. With a lil flick o’ the bird. Lol 😂 And I can’t afford any of your garage sale items at this point in time so I’m always stoked to see someone can and they wind up with a great new guitar. My chick says I have enough anyway. 😂

You are absolutely right about the in ears ruining playing to the room. I have been off monitors all together for a couple years and I just do the old trick where if I want more of something I take a step towards that instrument. Also removes the inevitable situation where the sound engineer and I have to fight each other to the death mid soundcheck.
