Oh wow - I have never been able to make good biscuits, and it's flustered me so much, because generally, I am a really good cook! So this is something that has eluded me for years. However - I truly believe that with your recipe and tips, I will be able to do it! There are several things that you did here that I haven't been doing, and I think it will make ALL the difference!! For one, you used cold butter - and grated it. I have used melted and/or room temperature margarine. Second, you used buttermilk, not regular milk! And third - you didn't beat it up a lot -- you only stirred it just enough to incorporate it. Finally, you baked them at a higher temperature - I have done them at 350 - 375 - and you baked them in a skillet, too - not on a baking sheet! So I am very excited to try it again, with your tips! And I'm going to check out your strawberry jam recipe, too! Thank you!! Thumbs up!!

My mother was a wonderful southern cook and we grew up eating biscuits and apple butter or honey or gravy, etc. Part of every day life we took for granted. I think grating the butter is the best hack when it comes to making biscuits. Who knew it could be this easy! Whenever I make pie crust, another great hack I’ve discovered is using the food processor to cut in my flower and shortening and I make the dough right there with it. The food processor makes pie crust almost as easy as Pillsbury! I wouldn’t recommend it for biscuits though, unless you like biscuits that could cut glass! 😂

That would only be about 1 tablespoon for the skillet and about 1 tablespoon for the tops of biscuits. Thanks for watching!
