Beauty of a video. Trying to troubleshoot a stall. Brand new setup. Timing is good but still waiting on fuel pressure gauge to show up. I do have to give it a bit of throttle when starting “more air” but when it’s running the iac is at 5 tps at 0 idles prefect then she just quits.

My Sniper I put on in May of 2023 ran perfectly. Now in November, it is stalling when I come to a stop and sometimes stalling at cold start after fast idle. Cooler weather may have affected the IAC somehow. I'll start using your suggestions tomorrow. Thank you.

Your videos are awesome thank you for putting in the effort to do this. You have really helped me a ton tune my idle and DBW properly so thank you. Since you know so much with the tuning maybe you can help me with a little project. I have an LS3 525 in a pickup with 4l80E behind it. I want to tune it to have the exhaust pop on gear change like a C8 is that doable with the terminator x?

To do that you need a large timing retard or really a cylinder cut to be able to get that reliably. Good news is the latest v3 software has torque management options for making solid shifts that could be used to similar effect

Wow what a video! THANK YOU! I do have a question. do I need to get a lap top and the program from Holley to do the things that you did? or I can do it with my little hand held. Just to give you an idea what I’m running. I have a stock crate sbc 350 motor and still running a regular distributor and coil, no timing control in my Holley Sniper. No AC.

You can use the SD card and take that to a computer or get the cam to usb cable and connect directly. That said a lot of the tools in your toolbox are timing related. All you can really do is make IAC changes.

I think my first question is what is your iac value at commanded idle? If zero be sure you close the throttle until you get about 1-2%. If you had zero ramp in that situation the idle should return very quickly and may even dip quite a bit. From there I would command a high idle and observe the value as in the video and set that as the hold position. From there adjust the ramp and rpm to start to get the result you want. Outside looking in it sounds like the throttle is too far open.

Only some. My recommendation there would be to not use it and tune hot idle without until you don’t get a stall and put in a timing wall. Then you can add it back. My only experience showed me I didn’t want any more

hi 👋🏽, I just installed the new sniper 2 on my car, she fired right up as it’s supposed to. I have the basic set up coil and distributor. Before the car was fired up it was set at 12°. I decided to change the timing now at 15° and now the rpm ramp up from 750rpm to 880rpm. I tried to change the basic idle back down and it won’t at all. Do I need to re-start the wizard again or? I'm not sure I follow but if you do not have ignition timing control from the holley the only way to adjust the idle is with the idle screw on the body.

I have put a dominator on a supercharged V8 Mercedes motor. I just can't the idle right, it's a Chrysler/Benz TB using DBW. There is no IAC. - do the various IAC setting such as ramp down, startup IAC position, IAC parked...etc apply to a DBW system?

  • @greenshortsperformance472

Yes. THE DBW body effectively does everything that a seperate IAC does just much better and faster. For a holley setup every 10% iac is 1% TPS
