Hate when one if these stories has a word by word or paraphrased account of one side of the argument but only says "i argued" when refering to their side. Always gives red flags, at least for me

The second story confuses me, because they say they make a lore-based Dark Angels army but then use female heads, feels counterproductive. Modelling is a key part of building the narrative.

Rule of cool should always be the way to go in the hobby. Vince Venturella built a Ratcast army for AOS (Stormcast with Skaven heads), just because he thought it'd be a fun hobby project. He's not campaigning for the lore to be amended, he's just happy to have a cool bespoke army.

If this guy had put female heads on his Marines BEFORE the lore was memory-holed this would be a valid argument.

Proclaims she uses female heads on space marines only because they look cool but doesn't say she is trans until well into the story. This is not a product of language fluency. This is a deliberate omission for effect. I am in no way condoning the behavior of "Brad" in this story. I do wonder what else was omitted from the story for effect. It was kind of you to not call her out on this.

I quite like the fact that you acknowledge that it's OK to have differing opinions I feel it's not as common as it should be people have different opinions and that's OK everyone is different as a person with different life experiences and I feel that nuance is lost when disagreements come up

If anyone's at the table and tells me my Blood Angels would "Never stand up against their XXXX", my response would just be a friendly "Well let's test that theory out, shall we?" before I proceed to pull not a single punch in the game. Blood Angels can be super duper sweaty if the terrain is good, and here in Austin most tournaments have a rule about "No windows on the first floor" to the point where they don't even model them on terrain pieces anymore.

Maybe the top player in story #1 happened to live in Devon and had nothing else on that weekend? Edit: Good on Woo for not taking advantage on Sunday morning. After being repeatedly pounded, many otherwise reasonable people would have fallen to the temptation of not reminding, not allowing retrospective moves etc in that situation.

The "that guy" story strikes a nerve so hard. I was playing in a 2v2 random partners story where I was playing 1000 CSM with yes Abbadon in 9th. I had a guy look at him and say "He'll be dead turn 1" as he was running IG with the ignore bodyguard rule. He had 3 lascannons that also ignored invun saves. Surprisngly, he didnt hit all the shots and I saved all the armor saves for Abby to get his revenge. Needless to say, he didnt shake my hand at the end.

Me and my partner take the piss out of each other all the time, I'm English, Scottish,German and Jamaican.. its in my nature ya know? But

In the campaign I'm playing the only thing wins and losses change for me is how I continue writing the story.

If it makes the first knight player feel any better, I deployed abaddon and terminator bricks since 7th edition. It just so happens that he got to see the time it was actually competitively good.

And that shit took a long damn time too. Years of having shit rules, 1 wound terminators with lesser equipment, GeeDub inevitably fucking you because “fuck chaos”. When I started playing, I used to run terminators in squads of 3, and would give them combi plasmas or meltas and power fists and just use them as throw away units at stuff because they always died. I’ve never been impressed by terminators until recent times

@@ravenRedwake very fair. Always ran ten with the Bringers of Despair thing and gave them infantry killer weapons with a fist or two and combi Melta and combi flamers.

This episode gave me an idea for a new torment stagy. Build a SM army with all girl heads. If asked why act like I don’t know what they are talking about. When the game starts announce all my actions like a general issuing orders “Sargent Rebecca move Bananarama squad up the left flank!” “Dreadnought Princess Sparkle engage the enemy in close combat by threatening to call the police” then cruise to victory as everyone forfeits because they don’t want to play me. Look for future Hobby Nightmare stories about me, it’s going to be great.

Go for it, because youll quickly find yourself without opponents anywhere as you will get banned from events. No one is going to organize an event, and allow you to show up an break it. Everyone will stand against you, and boycott you. You need to follow your idea, to its logical conclussion... have fun in your first, and last tournement ever.

With the female heads on space marines, i think its ok as long as the owner doesn't push for it to become cannon.

I mean, I wouldn't do female SM because I don't think it's lore appropriate, but your models are YOUR models. You do them however you like.

So only people who agree with you are allowed to be part of the hobby?

I know GW has retconned this, but originally there were female space Marines(at least one chapter named the little sisters of purification). The lore explained the lack of boob armour by saying the plates were so thick that it completely hid the sex of the wearer. If they decided to bring female space Marines back to cannon it wouldn't even be a retcon, it'd be an un-retcon

People need to get a grip and get over the female space marine thing.

Should be able to do whatever he wants with his minis without some mouth breather getting mad over a different gender
