With that type player it's best to approach it like "yes- i'm sure you will win. I'm a terrible player." Then if they win, it doesn't matter, but if they lose, it's really gonna hurt their pride

Crazy to hear people LIKE doing bases lol. I hate it more than anything and leave all my bases plain black. If anyone starts battle ready whining I say my guys are in a dark cave.

No issue with that, some people don't like doing it. Have you ever tried doing anything really ambitious, though? You might find that you really enjoy it.

@@slavetotheparasites413 yeah I have one model I made by kit bashing the Manticore missiles on the back of a Bastildadon and have like a swampy base that I entered in a contest but it's just not something I want to do for 120+ Guardsmen lol

The one-turn charge from my entire army is how my Blood Angels beat Custodes when they could still get their fights-first benefits. Works like a charm.

Most Sporting means the dudes liked you and your attitude. Go back with real casual lists and play for fun!

As an old fart I have a bit of nostalgia for the old Chaos Warriors, but they are less dynamic than most garden ornaments so I get where you are coming from. "Big battle happening, what are you doing?" "Ohhhh just here with my axe-head on the ground, standing on a forty-five degree angle, so I can stand beside the other warriors rank and file and still fit on our bases... in a rank and file game."

I laughed so hard at that last story my eyes teared 😂

I have a friend like the guy in the 1st story. Doesn’t like me beating him at 40K. Complains the 10th ed rules are broken and World Eaters are over powered (I play World Eaters). He plays Death Guard

I find it so interesting when someone doesnt like the old chaos warrior models, got a 3d printer and made the effort to find and print a unit, even if i never played chaos, because they look so dorky and make me extremely nostalgic about old times.

North you're missing the whole point of the watchmaster. It's called the long vigil for a reason. He's supposed to just be standing there... on a wall... guarding it... with a box of scraps... in a cave... being vigilant. It's the deathwatch, it's what they do! They watch... for death... and then watch some more. I say that as a deathwatch collector. My watch commander however, (I think) is the captain intercessor model that comes with the space marine versus necrons starter set. He's got a sword and shield. Yeah, he's still just standing there, but he's standing there a hell of a lot sexier than the official watchmaster model.

Deathwatch Watchmaster looks badass just standing looking at the Battle or whatever. But thats just my opinion xD

That last story was great! Its a bummer that the author never went back. It sounded like a good club.

My Watchmaster was made from a robed Dark Angels head, torso, and legs in a foreward leaning stance, with the Heavy Thunder Hammer arms (and haft), a Bolt Rifle on the end, with a sabre style Power Sword bayonet from the Assault Marines box. The other nerds prefer it to the stock Watch Master.

i dont care if you proxy or dont even paint your models i just like to roll dice and shoot stuff with dreadnoughts and tanks

Always staggered about the amount of cringe in the hobby, love it :D. Had to think about a good friend of mine who was invited into a local painting group and their group chat! After a few funny conversations and memes they got really buthurt and a general discussion about sexism broke out and someone mentioned that he (or she) is thinking about to leave the hobby. All this because of some memes :D. he left the group chat broken and in chaos… he showed me what he sent them, harmless memes about to much men in the hobby. now we stay in our friendgroup and meet weekly with some randoms here and there that are playing or chilling while painting with us, so much more relaxed environment.

Audio sounds real poppy today. Also it sounds as though you are drifting in and out of the mic.

With all this nonsense about inclusion and diversity in the hobby, I figured I would do my part to bolster my support for the female space marines/femstodes initiative and also simultaneously virtue signal for the disabled (or is it trans-abled?) by introducing my own faction. They are called the Deafwatch. They are all female and trans because reasons and they watch... because they cannot hear. So stunning. So brave. Also they're missing an arm and a leg. Take that iron hands!

It's warm and cosy in the closet. John Travolta and Tom Cruise keep me company.
