Nice bike I have a 2003 400 guy past away wife wanted it sold it is absolute mint with excel wheels almost $2000.00 for wheels and street lighting kit and digital dash q4 exhaust sat 3 years took a few kits to start but it was jetted a bit rich so when I turned the choke off it fired right up love the bike it rips toon my channel did a video love the XRs grew up on them

Love to see a great project like this get finished and then enjoy it! Watching your videos of the XR is making me think about converting my XR250R to street legal also. I love riding it, but I have to haul it to the off-road park. It would be great to be able to put around town with it too. I bought mine new in '99 and still have it, these bikes last forever with proper maintenance and care.

Thank you! Yes, I really love this XR. I had an earlier model (lates eighties) and loved it! I haven't ridden it as much as I would like but it's nice to know it legal and I have insurance :)

@@Johnnysshop Yeah, that's great. I'm currently working on getting mine street legal. I've got all the parts now, and already installed the new stator/lighting coil. As far as jetting, since you mentioned it in the video; I've been running a 135 main, needle in standard position, stock pilot, adjust air screw out a little. I'm running an FMF Q4 pipe and there is no decel popping with this jetting. Altitude 650'. Your bike looks great! Keep us informed!

Could you do more videos about your trail computer I’m thinking about getting one but I’m scared it would be really distracting especially at night sense it’s back lit I was just wondering what you thought about it

I have found for me even if I ride 10% dirt, I'll use a front knobby and replace as needed. A DS front tire is no different than a street tire in the dirt. Rear is fine with a 50/50 tire

how about comfort on long distance? and endurance of motorcycle itself how long it can go before askibg for rest.

Please say I’m not the only one who thinks getting that carb out of there is super hard.

In Chicago I'm gonna buy a 2000 xr250r for $1650. Great shape all original.

What gearing are you using?

I don't recall what oil I used last, maybe Lucas. 32:1 or 40:1

Would the light shining at you just in front of the tachometer be a problem at night?
