Great bike i have a crf300l for myself and just picked up a 2000 XR250r for friends to ride with me. I had an XR350 in 1984 for 15 years and had to have another one! Most fun you can have on the trails I am 62 years old.

Excited to see everything you do to this bike. Good luck can't wait for more videos.

Kudos on the bike!...and at your age, your not old! I'm a 60yr old grandfather about to do the same with my grandson. It's been a few years since I've ridden off road.... how long, well let's just say the last time was on my '71 Bultaco Alpina (yes, I still have it!)...the XR series is very appealing to me as well, for the same reasons you mention. Wish me luck in my search for one. Thx.

Nice bike header is stock. Oil temperature gauge, I believe the newer xr250’s came with oil cooler stock. Last one I had was a1986. Great bike for riding with kids.

Those ARE the stock header pipes. And you might consider removing the dents in them; dented headers will affect performance a little. I have a ‘99 XR250R that I bought new in April 2000 and still ride it regularly. These old XR’s are great, I hope you enjoy yours! Also, are you sure the tail light assembly mounts on top of the fender? Usually those mount underneath.

Thanks! Yeah, there is a slight dent in one of them but I think it will be fine. You are correct! The previous owner had everything installed incorrectly :(

Yeah you're right, a little dent won't make any noticeable difference. Are you still riding it? The bike looks really good!

Hey Johnny I have a 2003 xr250r with the tusks Enduro lighting kit and I was trying to figure out how to charge the battery from the stator I bought a regulator rectifier but I'm just not sure about how going about it I can install the wires easily but I'm not sure if it'll blow the battery thanks

Of course, those are oil filters in the drawer. Not air filters. ;)

The headers are stock, and the big bolt on the break lever is because they come with hand guards And I think the frame guard is stock as well but great bike

Actually it was all good! Titled here in Ohio as street legal!

XR 250 R (Still a 4 stroke) VS XR650 L ------ The XR250 so much lighter. The power is just fine for an old 250 (I grew up with the KE 250), and you can just throw it around. It is so light. Great for around town transport... Would I want to take it on the highway? Eeeeh, not so much.

How did the stray paint jobs on the yz 250 or the yz125 hold up im painting my xr250r frame cuz it needs some paint after all the years of us and was wondering would you recommend a way or a paint or just tell me it's a board idea im or wondering how the paint held up I drive alot of Rocky trails

MINIMOTOMADNESS what did it take to install E start in your XR ...

My stock 1998 Xr250 has mismatched screws on those plastic side pieces. Really annoying Honda did that.

I have a 91 xr250r and I’m 215 and need a heavier rear shock spring...do you know where I can get one?

Loud pipes will cause problems for others. Do you really need them? I have seen riding areas get shut down for the fact of the noise. You thing your grandson will like the loudness following you?

You are far from old don’t use age as an excuse not saying you need to launch jumps but you definitely aren’t to old for a really serious Dirtbike. Xrs are great bikes don’t feel heavy until you fall over and have to pick it up

I sold it a little over a year ago or so. It was knocked over one too many times :(

The bike, spare parts, and upgrades seem to be a good deal at $2200

Hahaha that rear lite kit was supposed to be mounted under the rear fender.

I thought CA was the only place where people asked ridiculous amounts for their old bikes. Also That black fender piece is supposed to go under the tail.

Yeah, prices are nuts here. I plan on getting the wiring sorted soon :)

So it's not legal here in Kentucky I have one with title I bought new I have wanted to street legal it to here it's not legal to do so here in Kentucky is disappointing.

It's fine, been done for awhile.

re built 96 model, hunts down 450's in the scrub no problem at all! Iv'e had all the brands and powers lol - xr250r had 3 of them kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZ1qps6Agbbcips.html
