When motorcycles still looked like real motorcycles, with my favorite seat and gastank combination, both being tall, which forms the pocket, I love to sit in. Nice exhaust note. This bike would be a great around town or pitbike too.

It truly is a Swiss Army bike. The looks are the tits as well.

The balance was perfect for wheelies or trail riding. I wasnt hitting the big doubles or triples anymore as an older guy. But the fun factor was there!

The best wheelie bike ever built besides the XR600R, Iam going to a local dealer tomorrow hopefully, not to buy any bikes but just to see the inventory, this is what the dealers are missing are these old gems that are extremely reliable and sometimes better than new bikes

I have a 1997 XR400 and serial # is 001 first one ever made and first year, plus it has street insurance papers.. needs some restoration.. was lock down project not finished..

Every time I see something like this come along, I wonder why I bought the new bike that I did. I am really not liking all this traction control and antilock brakes and all kinds of other stuff that really makes me miss the older and simpler stuff.

The XR250R in my opinion is the best trail bike ever made. But this bike is in great shape. I owned a 82 for year's. I could not kill that bike for nothing. I still own a 89 XR250R.

Bought an ‘03 250r myself last November, couldn’t love it any more if I tried. Best play bikes ever made!

The Honda XR bikes are immortal. You have to really try to ruin it.

My first bike was a ‘90 XR100. Doug Danger was the salesman, actually. I rode the wheels off it, then got the premix bug. All these years later I want to go full circle and pick up an XR250 or 400. Simple, reliable, fun.

Had an 04 xr 250, bike was an absolute tank i loved it. Many great memories riding with my old man at Thomaston dam

Clean bike! The '96 - '04 XR250R, (last generation of this bike) was, and still is, a great bike. I have two plated '96's with 4 gallon IMS tanks. At 240 lbs, an amazing lightweight ADV bike. Had many memorable 4 day camping trips around Yosemite with my son. Now he's ripping around NYC on one of them as his commuter. I'll never sell them!

Had a very similar xr400 years back bored over to a 440 and truly miss it!

Love it "Would you look at it", can't stop looking at it, just look at it everyone look at it Bass Master 😅 classic.

Had an 02 for nearly 10 years now. Rode a 200 before. Also have a kdx220. The xr is still my favorite trail bike.

That thing is drop dead gorgeous. Wow!!

I agree, great through the woods back east, I used it to race MX at Budds one weekend

The xr250 was an amazingly great bike. I recently bought a cRF300L and it is no where near the bike the old XR250 R was.

I think that CRF300L is the modern version of XR250R!Both great fun bikes!

When it comes to woods racing I was faster on my XRs than my CRs! I got an XR250 for Christmas in 1985 and I wish I had never sold it! Fun bikes and bulletproof!

brings back memories when i was 9 to 13.. even though my dad rode the 92 xr250 , and me a '95 yz80, it was in 2003, so id still see these late model xr250 around. i also rode my dads xr 250 now and then, was super fun. honestly my yz 80 felt like it could keep up no problem at times, lol, that was a rocket.

Ive had the cr line as race bikes . Honda hit the nail on the head with the XR line ! perfect play bikes!

My buddy had an 02 xr200 I had 04 crf150 he had six gears but I’d smoke him every time. Never seen a 250 but I want one now lol

Absolute bulletproof tank. I had an 87 XR 200 when I was a kid and beat the dog shit out of it. It just kept starting lol

A '83 XR100 was my first new bike as a teenager. You couldn't destroy it. That was the first year(I think) the 100 had a mono shock.

Love the XR'S. Sweet machine there. The old older I get the more I like old 4 strokes. Only drawback is it's not a 2 stroke

The Xr 250 is a superior machine compared to the CRF250F. I know, I currently own a CRF250F and had an XR250. If Honda ever made a light-weight version of this air-cooled bike, they could not keep up with demand.

I feel like the new Bluetooth mic is like the Honda 230, doesn't really replace the old proper microphone and where has the legendary Kaplan mic toss gone? Come on Snr, we all loved the old microphone, modern stuff is sometimes just not as good!!!

Great looking bike. Is it true that the foot pegs for this bike are the same as the 230l? Bought my wife a 230l for her first ripper to learn on and am having a hard time finding good foot pegs. Anyone know somewhere that makes pegs for a 2008 crf230L?

Still have my 1985 XR250. I haven’t ridden it for a decade but I can never part with it.

I bought an 86 XR 250 brand new in 86 after having so much fun on the 83 XR200 I had at the time. It was a complete dog!. I never rode it on tar like in this video, and getting the front wheel up in 3rd was impossible. I sold the bike two years later after getting blown away by a full grown man on a KX 85 in an uphill drag race. Great in the tight woods. The 200 was actually faster.

Both are brilliant bikes, no radiators to worry about, (oil rad on the 400), super reliable, legendary Honda build quality. I've been lucky enough to own both, the 400 is what you want when you have the 250. The 250 is what you want when you have the 200, the 200 is the one you want when you have the 125. I say just enjoy the one you have, they are all brilliant with their own character.

Honda needs to bring back xr line thats street legal with aluminum frames and fuel injected air cooled motors, linkless shocks, in 250,400,710cc sizes, keep the weight down like ktm does on there duel sports, they could even make dirt only ones without light for even more weight savings

@@2014ultra it's a great bike that's been unchanged since around 1992, if they gave it fuel injection it would be nice, they had a dirt only water cooled xr650r for a while, it had aluminum frame but no fuel injection and was kick start only, that would make a great duel sport if they put fuel injection and electric start on it

@davidsalo8397 they like to watercool most of the new designs,they do have some air cooled ones in Hondas lineup, kawi has a 230 that's air cooled and fuel injected,yamaha has a 250 air cooled and fuel injected,they need to do a 400 thats aircooled and fuel injected but keep weight down, ktm is good at keeping weight down even with all watercooled bikes,watercooled is better at cooling but it adds hoses, pumps radiator, I like basic bikes,electric bikes are pretty basic ,ktm ,zero, and sur ron have some decent electric bikes, I never rode one but they look like fun but maybe a little boring with no reving exhaust note and clutch and shifting,lots of choices for duel sport and adventure bikes, the honda450 duel sport would be good all around bike just more expensive than some of the smaller ones

Why there was never a street legal Xr150,250,350. Lost market

After listening to all of them beautiful CR 500 2strokes this XR sounds awful... Sounds like a fart machine...
