What holds the kick start shaft in? Mine has a broken tooth on the pinion kick starter gear on the kick starter shaft. I have the side cover off and all the clips and washers from the shaft and thought it should pull straight out but it doesn't. Thanks.

Attach the kick start pedal and rotate the spindle to release the spring. Once the spring is off it "should" pull out. Mine was quite difficult to remove. It's not being retained by any mechanism tho.

Part of the sprint clips into the shaft I'm guessing that's what broke. It's an easy fix just keep track of how everything comes off the shaft. Figure out what's broke then find the part number on an oem website and search the number online for the best deal.
