    The screws holding the float bowl are NOT phillips. They are JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). The heads are easily stripped if using a Phillips screwdriver. Amazon and eBay sell the JIS.

    Great video! After I cleaned mine in the ultrasonic, I noticed two felt washers that were falling apart. One in the hole for the choke and one in the hole for the throttle. I may be able to salvage the throttle one but the other is toast. Are they absolutely necessary? Or would it bo ok to leave out for light recreational riding?

    Carberators can be very temperamental; I would replace everything with new and use the parts diagrams to reassemble.

    Theres a plastic washer that prevents wear between the metal parts. I suppose you could put a dab of assembly lube on there but i have never had a problem with wear or sticking.

    Hi, just some help. At 2min 29 seconds you mentioned 'this one has a spring on it, don't lose that spring'. Where dit that spring come out? The larger brass jet hole or the smaller? I was not paying attention when disassembling mine.

  • @WeekendAdventureRides

    The spring is on the fuel mixture screw. The skinny pointed one. Not one of the two jets

    I rebuilt mine correctly but when I hook my throttle linkage back up the throttle is sticking and won’t retract right… when I take my throttle cables back off.. the slide mechanism works perfect… hook my throttle cables back up it sticks either way you turn it… what am I missing?? I know I’m putting the cables in the right spot.. idk

    Lube the cables check the resistence to rotation in the throttle tube. It has to be something in one of those two areas

    On the idle screw do you really need to washer and rubber seal on top of the spring? Don’t think mine had those on there when I pulled out the old ones.

  • @WeekendAdventureRides

    @WeekendAdventureRides

    It probably would function fine without it. Is it stuck at the bottom of the threads? The washer recently damage to the carb body where the spring contacts.

    @@WeekendAdventureRides so I just did a rebuild and used all the new parts, bike starts first kick but I get a weird bog at the middle of the throttle, thinking I should maybe just use the old jets but don’t know as this is the first time I have done one of these

  • @WeekendAdventureRides

    There are a lot of good videos out there about jetting. Mid throttle is likely an issue with the height of the needle on the slide. I would open it up all the way and see if you get bog between 3/4 and full throttle. That's your main jet.

    So an update, one issue I think I solved is that the rubber o-ring from the last jet was stuck in the carb, got it out and reinstalled, now I realized that I some how set the choke up backwards so all the way down is full choke I think and when I put up it dies instantly, while riding on middle choke it didn’t seem to be as boggy. Any suggestions? Thanks I really appreciate the responses

    @@WeekendAdventureRides Cool and on the honda parts diagram I cant seem to locate where the main jet (#32in the diagram) is in the carb. was trying to look close to see if you put it on before or after that plastic piece.. plus theres like 12 different options to choose from so i dont even know where to start.. also noticed there was a small piece around 17:17 that was never put in any idea where it goes?
