Henry's Bench: Dave's Bonsai E224

In this episode, I spend part of a day helping my good friend Henry work on his new bonsai bench. It was a steamy day, but we got it done. Oh and if you want to support Henry's bonsai journey, check out his youtube channel:

This was a great day and reminded me of how very special the bonsai community is. That sentiment seems to ring loud with every bonsai person I interview or talk bonsai with. Enjoy!

Ahhhh darn critters! You just have such a lovely inviting critter paradise as a yard! We need to have my Ruby train your dog in as a bonsai protection pooch 🤣 What great support you are for Henry! Awesome new bench and shade cloth for his maples!!

Dave it has often been said that a friend in need is a friend indeed. Your good natured and kindness shows up every time and in so many ways! P.S sorry about your tree misfortune, how do you stay so cool? I saw a squirrel running across my yard and almost had a panic attack. Great job on the bench.

How do I stay cool? I’m not entirely sure. Bonsai has given me so much. So I think I strive to give back. I’m just grateful I can pay that forward in some way to others.

I think a little tiny beaver chopped the tree down and is trying to damn up your pond. 🤣 All jokes aside, it’s heartbreaking - especially when the tree comes from a good friend like Candice. Great job and great to see Henry again.

I’ve been trying to trap a rabbit in my yard for relocation before it eats my japanese maples… no luck so far, but its eating all the carrots I put out… and some dappled willow and a couple maple branches and some low bark pruning, sigh…
