How To Build A Bonsai Bench 🔨*EASY*
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hi everyone! In this Bonsai video, I'll show you a super easy way to build a Bonsai bench for your garden.
This design offers a simple and straightforward approach to showcasing your beautiful trees. I'll guide you step by step through the entire process of building the bench, from start to finish. To create the Bonsai Bench, you'll need 21 Cinder Blocks and 6 Planks of Treated Decking Board.
Simply arrange the blocks at each end of your desired bench length and place the wooden planks on top. If you find that your bench requires additional support due to its length, you can also add more blocks in the middle for extra stability, just as I demonstrate in this video.
Before you begin building your Bonsai bench, it's crucial to clear a suitable space in your garden or designated area. Ensure the area is level and free from debris or obstructions. This will provide a stable and ideal environment for your Bonsai display.
A Bonsai bench can significantly enhance your overall Bonsai experience. The raised platform allows you to admire your trees and appreciate them from the desired viewing angle, as opposed to them simply sitting on the ground. This elevated position also makes it easier to water, prune, and care for your trees, promoting their long-term health by reducing the likelihood of missing any issues. If you are creating a Japanese Garden, a Bonsai Bench can serve as an elegant focal point, enhancing the overall ambiance of your garden space.

I love what you did here! At 61 years old, I really appreciate not having to bend over to water and tend to plants. It's a fabulous design. Could you do a video, a tour of all your plants? I am sure we would all love to see them and it would be a great way for you to keep track of the growth of your trees if you did the tours like once a year or so.
Adam, you clearly enjoy bonsai, it shows on your face. I can't help but smile just watching your enthusiasm. Love the benches.

You can also get a bit of string or wire between small gap between the planks to tie any pots to the bench if you feel they might blow over . Looks great

Omg this was such a great video. I mean, building a bench isn' hard. But turning it into a multifunctional bonsai space is such a great idea!! Great video, and can we PLEASE have an update on your tree collection? 👉🏻👈🏻
Well made. The video as well as the bench.
No Adam, you are not a carpenter ... but you envisioned it, planned it, organized materials, experimented with tools ... AND BUILT IT! Excellent! Such a massive improvement over cluttered stuff on the floor. You can even put more storage shelving underneath. a tarp or old mini blinds along the front the block of the visual of clutter even more. That'll make the landlord happy too!
Brilliant little set of display benches and should make your life easier. I do love that rose Adam :)

I love that Haws watering can. After seeing how much Nigel S. liked his I wanted to give it a try. Two years ago every place online was sold out and it seemed that the particular model had been discontinued. Luckily after a few months of searching I found a place in Canada that was selling them but I had to pay extra for International shipping (Living in U.S.) but after getting the watering can I realized it really is as nice as Nigel says it is and was worth it. Glad to see Haws is still making them as I have seen a few new places online selling them again and buying a backup can is tempting, or 2.
You’re doing great!! Can’t wait to see how your Bonsai art grows.

Hi Adam, saw this video when it got out, but now I want to make a bench. So your video inspired me. Do you have anything in mind, you would have done differently after almost 8 months of using it ? Still happy with it or already have made any improvements ? I ordered cinder blocks and similar wooden planks and planning on making it into a bench in a couple of days. Thank you for the inspiration and advice 🙏🍀

Great job ! I have to put a no more order as I’m out of room !
Looks nice! A coat of exterior varnish, boiled lindseed oil or simmilar would help to protect the wood even further
Currently I have a budget friendly bench of pressure treated 2x6 boards stretched across 2 saw horses, and a low raised step bench made of 4 blocks standing up and 2 laying down with an oak wood pallet I cut in half (half on top step and half on the lower step). Very low to the ground but keeps the plants off the ground and a little easier to take care of. Also fits perfectly in a small area next to my shed door.
Great job Adam! Definitely you will enjoy your trees up on a shelf. 👍

Hi Adam! i purchased 21 cinder blocks from home depot yesterday. my decking boards will be delivered tomorrow. i will let you know how it goes. i am customizing the build to suit my needs and situation. i appreciate the simplicity and versatility of your design. i am not "handy" at all , but you inspired me to try something new

Ohh nice!! 😊🌱 How did it go for you??
I would treat the cut ends of your decking boards with end grain seal, other wise rot will get into the exposed untreated centre of the boards. Various companies manufacture it. Made my staging with the same materials 18 years ago. I give it a coating of decking stain each year. This year I stripped the build up back to the original surface and retreated it.
Perfeito. Não a como visualizar mais o vermelho,Todas tem sua delicadeza.

Hi Adam. Great video, thanks for the insight. Your boxes of substrate - have you made ventilation holes in the boxes? Do you find anything in the boxes grows? As mould from condensation, or weeds? Cheers, Louis.

@@notionbonsai hmm, I was thinking maybe set the shelf against the railing, wouldnt risk the weight of the concrete blocks there, as for now, I have some plastic shelfbox that is meant to be for storage or something like that, it is quite decent, but it limits the height of the trees
thats not a bad price for each of those adam. i was just talking to my old lady the other day about these type of benches. i need to replace my old table with the mdf top thats not going to make it long out doors lol. thanks! now i can show here this video and she can see what i meant

does the wood rot easily? especially with continuous watering maybe moss will grow and so on I think galvanized iron is more sturdy but to save costs the board can be an option good job friend👍
