@The Slice Tennis - Awesome content Becket. I just bough myself the G360+. Without trying it much I decided to add lead at 9 and 3 o clock with 4G in total as well as an extra 2/3grams at the grip end. My thoughts playing after the modification. It was honestly horrendous. I felt like I compromised the overall feel through the extra lead. It felt quite slow in terms of the swing speed. It felt extremely head heavy for some reason as a result of the 4grams at 9 and 3 o clock from my thoughts. I was hitting balls well however in terms of my swing it was quite slow, which isn't what I/people in general want. Thereby I decided to remove the 4grams at 9 and 3 o clock and keep the 2/3 grams at the grip end. After the 2nd trial, let me tell you. It felt like magic. From my personal experience, I didn't realise how much 4grams would make much a difference, it felt quite horrible.

Yeah, I think this racquet is stable enough that it doesn't really need weight at 3 and 9. I'm glad you found a setup that works for your game!

Yes, the racquet feels head heavy naturally, add weight to the bottom of the handle and like magic it feels amazing. I like 8 or 9pts HL

Hello, i’m a lower intermediate player starting off. I own a speed mp 2022 but considering the ezone 98/100 as well. Do you think it’s worth getting the ezone or do the speed mp and ezone play similar?

I find your reviews very helpfull! I'm looking for my first raquet. I'm 30 years old and fairly strong so after testing a few 300gram version im finding them easy enough to swing. I tested the head extreme and really liked it but felt like i needed to hold back on my swings to not make the ball you out. Today i got the speed to test out and loved the similar feel and power but just a little less. The spin is quite lower for the speed for me. Will the clash 100 or the pure drive be something similar for me to love. If it compares to the head extreme with just a lil less power and more control? Or will the speed just be the one for that.

It is sounding the the Speed is a good fit for you. The Pure Drive has similar control to the Extreme, so I don't think you'll like it better. The Clash has good control, but I wouldn't buy it, unless you can try it first, because it has a very unique feel. Spin can be increased with strings and technique. With racquets, focus on getting the control, feel and power level correct for your game

I just demo’d this racquet and I absolutely loved it. Getting back into tennis I always played with radical MP’s various generations. Was looking for a stiffer frame but not jarring because recent UCL injury practice serves, more open string pattern, 100 head size for more forgiveness, and more rounded grips (hate the head rectangular). Was thinking Babolat aero but I heard it’s terrible on arms. Any other racquets I should consider with similar specs? Technifibre 315? I saw a bad review on that one. Never had a good serve because I play right handed but throw left handed. Hit the biggest serve of my life with this demo it was definitely over 100 mph never came close to that before. I demo’d the Yonex pro 97 310 at the same time that racquet felt great but had no pop for me. Should I try a Babolat ? Never have.

I would avoid Baolat if you are looking for comfort. They are doing a better job than before, but they still aren't class leading in comfort. I have a comparison of the Head G360 Extreme vs. Wilson Clash 100 coming soon, so I'd stay tuned for that. Tecnifibre uses rectangular Head shaped grips so I don't think you'd like it. I am a BIG fan of the Yonex EZone 98 as it belnds control, feel comfort, power and spin better than any other racquet in my opinion. The EZone 100 is worth investigating as well.

Courtside Sports thanks. I actually took the 360+ speed MP to rally and realized my old head radical’s play much better. I tried a Babolat aero and I liked it but don’t want to risk any further arm issues. Guess I’ll just save money and continue to use my old radicals and some lead tape they had more control and better feel.

Hello, is it possible to generate topspin with the Pro model? I normally don't hit with much top spin as I play with eastern grip. But I like to approach with topspin shot to come at net. Please recommend which model will be better for me MP or PRO. Also please let me know which one is better for slice. Because I hit backhand slice most of the time. Thanks!

The Pro is definitely preferred on slice. Topspin is good on both, edge to the MP. The Pro is still one of the most spin friendly 18x20's on the market.

Hello, I am considering replacing to a leather grip. That would add around 10grams to the handle. What are your thoughts on that? Could you give some insight on what that would do to the racket, and for which type of playing style it could be beneficial for? Many thanks

Weight in the handle helps with stability on volleys and when you take it early. It won't make the racquet feel lighter in your hand, even though the balance is more headlight. This is because you still have the same amount of weight in the head. I think it's mostly beneficial for players who are aggressive and like to move up in the court. I find I prefer more weight in the handle on hardcourts, where I play up in the court, versus clay when I play back in the court. Looking at the pro's, guys like Nole and Fed have a lot more weight in the handle which helps them take the ball very early. Rafa has most of his weight in the head, which helps him generate a ton of power when he's deep in the court.

Hi, very good review. How does the Speed Mp behaves with few spin shots and powerful shots? Is a good racket for control? And has the racket a good power and control ratio? (I’m an advanced player who’s looking for a racket that can provide a mix between power and control, and that is not too much heavy..My playing style is like “Jannik Sinner’s”, with due proportions of course. On the Mp maybe I could add some gram for make it more stable, but at least I start from 300gr..). (I come from a Babolat Pure Aero..and this racket doesn’t help my playing style..I hit few spin shots and I’m a powerful player from the baseline). Perhaps the Speed Pro could be a good racket for me, but I think it’s a bit heavy also and it doesn’t help me on serve..and I wouldn’t sacrifice too much power for control..so.. What do you think about it? Thanks!!

If you are an advanced player id recommend going with the Pro. You'll get stronger and see a lot of benefit in terms of power, heaviness of your ball and stability. The pattern on the MP is very open, which is great for defending, but I find it tough to attack with. Mix of power and control is good, as I find the racquet relatively forgiving and encouraging to swing fast.

One time I tried the Speed Pro, and I found it a very very good racket from the baseline, but it seemed to me a bit heavy, mostly on serve, which is a very important shot in my game.. And perhaps it’s a bit tiring in long matches..whereas the Mp maybe has the right mix of power and control, and the weight, even if I add some gram, could allow me to finish the match in the same way I started.. @@gekgamestv9657 Sorry for the late reply, been quite busy lately. If you are comfortable adding weight, it's hard to go wrong. You can try slowly adding a few grams every few weeks until you get to a maximum weight. Max weight being the heaviest racquet you can swing for the whole session

I think this is a perfect choice. You have to adjust to a different racquet feel from the O3 ports to normal grommets, but the way this racwuet delivers spin is superb. Plenty of power while on the run as well.

@@victorlagos8614 I think the phantoms are generally too soft for defensive players. They flex so much, making it hard to consistently redirect power and they don't give you enough help while on the run. I counterpunch with spin as well and the phantom is just too much of a wet noodle to be effective.

Hey Becket, Great review. The HEAD G360 Speed MP is on sale. Would you still recommend buying it even though it is the previous model. How could i customize it to play like the 360+ model?

@@justinlatimer326 if you feel like you have smooth technique and can are fit enough to handle the extra weight it's probably ok to go with the Pro. There's no way to customize the old Speed to play like the new one. A big part of the change is from the layup of the graphite. The new Speed feels a lot more direct. The old one was muted and could feel vague on contact. Been a while since I've hit the Speeds so I may need to revisit them!

@@justinlatimer326 I remember it being pretty playable, but it's been quite a while since I hit the Speed MP. The Speed is not the most maneuverable racquet though. I think the Pure Aero and Ezone 100's swing faster.

what the differences between speed and radical mp with 360+? I was almost choosing new radical (2021), but I heard good stuff about speed mp

I find the Radical to offer a stiffer, more raw and responsive hitting feel, while the Speed is more muted a plush feeling

I never played with those old Speeds so I can't offer much advice unfortunately.

This is one off the raquets i am interested in, dobles 4.0 player dont play singles mutch. High lunch angle not very good for dobles. Ezone 98 vs. Speed mp. Which one you say its better? Serv and volley, for returns, stabillity etc. I am leaning for the ezone.

Ezone. It's more maneuverable on volleys and at least as stable. I think the Speed MP has a higher launch angle, I find that racquet to have a very open pattern.

At the 26 inch length, I would go with which frame the junior player is more drawn too. Anything that keep them inspired on court will be much more important than the subtle details in playability. If they like white, or Djokovic/Andreescu go Speed. If they like yellow, or Berrettini, go Extreme

Can you compare it to the Aeroppro Drive 2013 GT in terms of spin, control and manoeuvrability? Pure aeros have to much spin for me...I'm looking for a more stable successor for my APD for a very long time now...

I used that racquet for about 5 years so I definitely can give some advice. I think Yonex is going to be your best bet. They feel very stable and the string bed is responsive in the same way the 13APD is. Probably the EZone 100 over the VCore, because the string pattern has a similar density.

Both felt way too soft with way too less spin compared to the apd. Also i could generate a lot more head speed with the apd (probably due to the more head heavy balance). Also the sweetspot of the isometric headshape didn´t feel that "reliable". So I´m a bit afraid of the Yonex racquets. What I´m looking for ist a APD with similar access to spin, good racquet head speed and more stability especially on the backhand side (my weak one). The APD didn´t have any plow on the backhand and felt to "pinging" (if this is a word ;)). I loved it on the forehand side with a little bit lead at 12 o´clock but the backhand side and slice were quiet unstable. Racquets I have already tried: Blade 2015 18x20 and 16x19 - too less spin but very comfortable on the backhand. 16x19 had to less control due to the lacking of spin potential. - Babolat Po7: small sweetspot and felt like plastic. - Head Extreme MP and Pure Aero: too open string pattern, only topspins felt comfortable but with too high launch angles. - Pro Staff 97: too much power witch too less spin. - the two yonex i mentioned (Ai98 and DR98) - Babolat Pure Drive: way too stiff. In my opinion way stiffer as the APD even though the RA are similar. Please help me :)

@@WE-vd8ux Ok, have you had a chance to try the new Extreme Tour? I used to really struggle with Head racquets because they have felt hollow, stiff and unstable for the past 5 of so years. I know its hard to believe in racquet tech, like 360+, but every G360+ racquet Head has launched has much improved feel. There is enough vibration that you feel connected to the ball, but you generally get that thump noise from impact, not the ping noise. The Extreme Tour swing very fast and the spin is phenomenal. The hoop is stiffer feeling, so its very responsive and returns a lot of energy to the ball. The string pattern is not too open, like the new PA, so you won't get too much spin or struggle with launch angle. The new EZones are not very similar to the DR/AI's. Those racquets had very soft throats and didn't swing fast. The new EZone 98 has almost the same swingweight at the 13APD (313SW), and you get the similar Aero-shape beam. I think the new EZone has one of the most consistent sweetspots on the market, as there is not hopspot lower in the hoop like some other Isometric racquet I have tried.

Would you recommend this over the pure strike? I have recently switched to a single-handed backhand which has resulted in some minor elbow discomfort. I play with moderate spin and generate decent power.

I think the Strike is a better racquet for most players, unless comfort is a concern. In your case, because comfort is a concern, the Speed is probably the better choice.

Thanks, this is super useful. Especially because the practice of demoing racquets isn't here yet. I'm assuming the pure strike would work better than the pure strike 100 which has a higher stiffness rating.

@@rohanghosh3356 I haven't tested them back to back, but some of our customers have really loved the 100. What I like about the 98 for a 1HBH is the thinner beam and smaller head should be a bit faster through the air to help you bring that tip around

this one is more offensive and fast, while still being surprisingly great on defence and counterattack. very stable but not too stiff. strike is more defensive and for just holding the ball in play, not so great in attack. also very stable, slightly muted. to me speed mp is much better. head has made the head shape narrower with the last gen, this one maintains the same mold, very important for one handed backhand and serve direction. my level is advanced, I am a hard hitter with a big serve.

I dont have personal experience with the Gravity Tour sadly. The big difference is gonna be the string pattern of course. Both are pretty versatile racquets.

Gravity has more feel and less high lunch angle, Speed Mp has more free power. On flat shot and backspin Gravity is better, both have a good stability

They are for different players. The Pro is better for stronger, more attacking players, the MP is better for Topspin-oriented baseliners.

Dude the swingweight of the new version is 328...you're way off man. One the worst reviews I've ever read. You have to play with it in order to let yourself review. You could atleast googled it man...disappointing.

Because I have bought same racquets with entirely different weights and swing weights. And I see all reviewers reporting different swing weights as well. So am wondering if you have measured the swing weights yourself? Many thanks.
