Haley is better than almost all the judges, except for Mariah Carey and Steven Tyler. They could blow the shit out of Haley. She's one of my fav and obviously the best of that season, it's a shame that she was voted off :(

Not a shame at all. The woman who won is publishing Country Pop crap that sounds just like every other woman producing in that genre. Haley tours the world with PostModern Jukebox and is well on her way to becoming a star. :) She's got what it takes

This is what a real American Idol is. She's not a shock and awe singer whose only defining point is obnoxious runs. In addition to technical mastery of the voice, her timbre, musical understanding, feel, and performing qualities are jaw dropping and innate. Her singing defines "soul." Just phenomenal.

She's still an amazing singer, interpreter of older music, she has a wonderful ability to make old, new. Things I didn't like as a kid, I love when I hear her sing them - this is one of those. I still, after all this time, have chills through the entire performance, and Randy's still right, she is SO good. Her new album's first tracks are out and they're great too, I don't care that she didn't win her season, though she should have, she's still here and still making beautiful music. That's enough for me.

The final 2 show was boring without her. Too bad #Idol producers were bent on have the 2 country kids finish, one and two. We will never know for sure who really won in the talley, but to most of us, Haley is truly the winner. She came in BEST.

@@mashman8585 Joshua Ledet was great also, but Jacob Lusk's God Bless the Child was bloody awful. He went crazy on runs all over the place, and for me destroyed the song - literally, as in ruined it, not gave a great performance. A lot of thon modern Gospel singing, which is his background, is obsessed with runs. If the runs are long and ornate they must be great. Not true. They're shite. Listen to Mahalia Jackson or Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and older Gospel singers. More to the point, it's Jacob who should be listening to them.

While Haley got screwed on Idol, and I think her performances stand the test of time (go listen to the iTunes version of Earth Song , for example, and recall that she was trashed and bullied by a couple of the judges for performing that tune), she seems to be quite happy with her career as it stands now. Idol is a mixed bag for Haley since it did give her national exposure. She has a song charting on top 40 radio (Can't Help Falling in Love) -- and that happened totally by accident after she recorded the song for a gum commercial (which went viral on FB and has more than 100 million views there, as well as millions of views on various YT uploads [both the commercial and the song alone]). She has accomplished this without the backing of a label. Speaking of advertisements, her song Show Me Your Moves is featured in a Chase commercial that runs all the time and was also featured in Cubus TV spots in Europe. The song was also just featured in the season premiere of Dancing With the Stars. She recently appeared as a mentor on American Idol and performed a couple duets. In the past six weeks she has been doing shows (including #SXSW) and radio appearances promoting her single and upcoming album. She popped over to the UK and did a few shows with Postmodern Jukebox (her song Creep is the most viewed PMJ song and she has more than 50 million YT views with her PMJ work in a year). Her album is ready to come out in April. While she was approached my multiple labels, she is choosing to release this independently with her publishing rights company (ole/Red Dot). She plans to tour this summer. Haley has also branched out into voice acting as the voice of Bill on the animated Netflix show F is For Family. She plays the voice of Bill Burr as a youth. Not too shabby as she has established multiple review streams and a diversified professional presence. Some belittle the fact she isn't s superstar by now, or complain that she should be -- but I don't think that is her agenda. She wants success for sure, and she is achieving it on her terms. Shows like American Idol can catapulte young singers into the big spotlight, but sometimes they need to step back and work on developing their talent and understanding their interests. She has spent time writing songs and developing her stage presence outside the big spotlights and it is coming together for her quite nicely.

A bit of update on Haley: She just finished a successful US tour featuring her new material, and she is heading to Europe in September. She has a lot of gigs lined up this summer. In the next three days she will be playing in Bethesda and Atlantic City with Dave Damiani's jazz band. She just finished some voiceover recording for next 'Netflix show "F is For Family" with Bill Burr, Michael Price, Laura Dern and others. Netflix has indicated that it is a top ten show they have produced. She continues to periodically work with PMJ. Her most recent cover being Blackhole Sun. She will be performing with them at Radio City Music Hall on return from her European tour. The Wrigleys gum commercial has been accumulating all kinds of awards and recognition. Can't Help Falling In Love had a good run on the charts and still brings in some cash for Haley. She continues to promote her album.

@@johnkess2174 The things you regret very often are the things you didna do. I saw Haley in Glasgow when she was over here last time but I didna buy the special ticket to meet her afterwards For this year's tour I decided I'd go for it and get to meet her. And what's happened? Covid bloody 19 and a cancelled tour. At my age and being at particular risk, I'll probably never will get to meet her now. Why, oh why did I not do it when she was here last time? I think there's a very plain moral in my story. Every now and again I have to console myself with a puckle of glasses of a good malt whisky which I'm now doing. It's always good to see your comments.

Beyond the disappointment of her not winning, when she clearly should have, she hasn't had the success of some of the other AI alumni, several of whom couldn't come close to her talent. One of the things these vocal competition shows have shown, is that there is more to being a "great singer," than being a "great singer." Though in Haley's case, I think it's more about her doing what she wants to do, rather than trying to win a Grammy or be a diva. I think she's stayed true to who she is. PMJ was/is (I think) a great gig for her. They've toured all over the world and I get the sense she's having fun doing what she loves. She still has plenty of singing years left. I wish her the best. She certainly deserves it!
