She was robbed, but so was James Durbin, heck, they even chose Caleb over Jena Irene, I waited about 9 years to see Haley live, April 4th, 2000 I got tickets to see her at Boston Winery... canceled April 1st due to covid. 😭

+Steve Dwyer Actually, all the American Idol winners signed to UMG Interscope, which took over the American Idol contract in 2011, the same year that Haley was on Idol, got scammed by UMG Interscope. As all the American Idols they signed through the years were either cut before they ever got to release an album or otherwise cut soon after their debut albums were released with absolutely no artist development, support, or promotion whatsoever, and at the same time they screwed them over and destroyed their dreams. Haley was one of their unwitting victims. Nonetheless, the first song released last October off of Haley's new album went gold organically with no big major record label support or promotion, which is virtually unheard of today, and, of course, all the big major record labels started immediately courting her and trying to sign her to their record labels. Meanwhile, Haley deliberately extended the process to ensure that she would get the best deal possible. In any event, she has been signed and is currently in the studios writing and recording a new album to be released sometime late Spring or early Summer by her new major record label.

I never cared for Benny and the Jetts and suddenly Haley comes along and made me fall in love with her voice and the song!!!! Ten years later and here I am reminiscing again!!!

I’ve never watched someone else’s performances as much as I’ve watched hers. She’s the best to ever be on American Idol.

It’s 2022 and I still come back to watching this video. I don’t even remember any of the Idol performances anymore, just this 😭😍

Although I adore the original... I think I like her cover better. Anything this girl sings.

Producer manipulation. They chose Lauren and Scotty as their faves day 1, and they weren't going to let anyone break that. Haley fought very hard though, and I'm proud she came 3rd.

This season was probably the most talent filled season. Her, Jacob Luke, Casey Abrams, the winner, there’s so many songs I downloaded to my first iPod and still listen to. I was a senior in high school. This was all we would talk about on the bus. Good memories ❤

Yeah, she is. No doubt. if the music industry was actually paying attention to today's musicians with TALENT, she easily shouldhave a Grammy or 2 with at least a couple covers on Rolling Stone as well. She really is amazing.

I loved her back in 2010 and bought her CD then. Now she does the sultry jazzy music to absolutely die for. Love, love ya Haley. I wish you would come to New Orleans and do some of the Jazzy great sound for us. :)

12 years later since I first seen this performance. I was in the 7th grade, our teacher made us watch it, and I instantly fell in love with her voice and attitude she maintained throughout her performance, she is remarkable. She made the song her own, she was the true winner of this season.

Ben did a decent job on Idol tonight, but this will always be a Haley song on Idol. So awesome!

Just watched Ben perform this on tonight's Idol, the best part was when it reminded me of how much better Haley Reinhart nailed this song. Her version will go down in Idol history.
