I also have Gymnocalycium mihanovichii(variegata), have you any care tips? I've heard they prefer it a little more moist than most cacti but I received 2 rotted ones so wasnt sure how much they can tolerate?

Hi Layla, I treat Gynocalycium like any other cactus, I make up my own compost using a loam based compost such as john innes n°2 adding equal amounts of horticultural sand and horticultural grit I also add pumice and coir to the mix, I water every 2 weeks in the growing season and no water from mid October to mid March. I give a liquid feed twice in the growing season usually May and again in July.
