I've loved him since watching him on Reading Rainbow as a child. What a comforting presence. I would definitely watch Jeopardy more often with LeVar as host.

LeVar’s ability to genuinely and humbly express both excitement and wonder reminds me of another gifted communicator: Carl Sagan.

Ok. Let’s talk, Jeopardy. This man taught an entire generation to appreciate books and knowledge. These are the same people that are now Jeopardy contestants. He is humble but he has confidence. He has humor, poise, and is well-spoken. He seems like he actually knows the answer to the questions he’s asking. As a child of the 90s he meant so much to my childhood and so many others’. I get emotional just thinking about it. For the love of god, make this man host!

This man needs to be the next Jeapordy host. For the sake of the show. For the sake of humanity.

LeVar is pleasant and informative in anything he touches. I wish him the best of luck and look forward to seeing him be successful.

He has the hosting experience hosting Reading Rainbow for over 20 years in addition to his work with Star Trek. I know that Star Trek fans (myself included) want LeVar Burton to be the next host when it is announced in August after Joe Buck's stint.

He is simply Terrible! He believes that because he is black and has watched jeopardy since he was a kid that he deserves the job! His words not mine . He’s the worst of the guests host so far, and that’s BAD ! Ken Jennings is the best so far but l wish Brooke Burns could have a shot?

He’s the worst guest host on jeopardy,period! Ken Jennings ( Alex trebecks choice) or Joe Buck!

Wow, I’m a Jeopardy fanatic and he’s great! Happy this show will continue with a likeable, intelligent, host. This feels right!

I grew up watching Levar host Reading Rainbow. That show inspired me to get my library card and check out books all the time as a kid. Now that I'm older lol I would gladly tune in to watch Jeopardy as my greys come in lol.

He has the personality and the voice to be the next host of jeopardy! To me he was a no doubter when all the names were listed!

Levar's first game show appearance was on Pyramid in 1977, shortly after Roots debuted. He was a regular celebrity on Pyramid for the next 10 years, and was on Celebrity Jeopardy! in the mid 90s.

I’m so looking forward to his episodes it has come full circle to me. I grew up watching Reading Rainbow, TNG, and now here he is hosting Jeopardy.

I saw Lavar Burton host Jeopardy for the 1st time tonight.. What a warm and familiar feeling. I don't know why people even mention his color .....who cares? I believe he is the best reader and interacts really well with contestants in a very natural and warm way. I love many of the others, but as contestants, broadcasters or performers. Lamar Burton gets my "vote" , for whatever that is worth. Good luck Lavar. I will be watching as long as you are the host- just as I did when it was Alex.

Very good to hear levar still has his youthful voice. I heard Tom hanks recently and he’s beginning to sound like an old man

He's perfect for this show, he brings excitement to a show I never watched.. not because I didn't like it but to me it was just boring. And although I'd pop in every now and then just to check up on Alex Tribeca. I admired his longevity. And now I look forward to catching a show.

This guy would be the most perfect jeopardy host. I totally hope he gets this gig please

I've been looking at each guest host for some specific qualities: naturalness, expressiveness, a bit of erudition, and the ability to connect with the contestants and not be overwhelmed by the process of hosting. Some of them have come closer to fitting the bill than others have. And while Alex could occasionally be a little socially awkward when ad-libbing with the contestants, I think he embodied all of those qualities pretty well, and that's what made him such a success as Jeopardy host for so long. There's a lot that goes into being a good host, and Alex made it look easier than it is. I believe LeVar Burton also has those qualities, and if he does as well as I think he will, he'll make a wonderful host. I don't know if he's interested (Edit: he is), but he could be a great candidate for permanent host as well! Looking forward to finding out!

Totally see him being a Great jeopardy host for good. I see he's channeling Alex but still being himself. Perfect balance and very likeable human being. Most of all he really wants it that alone can be enough because you know he'll be ever grateful and inspiring to audience and contestants alike. That's the magic Alex brought.

I been a Levar Burton fan sense I was a kid watching Reading Ranbow. We miss Alex dearly and I think the one person to represent and do justice as host of Jeopardy is Levar. I wish they give him a long term contract and he accepts. Welcome Levar. RIP Alex

The moment I saw LeVar Burton on TV all my childhood memories came flooding back. He helped me to keep on going and reading even when I wanted to give up. It took me a bit longer due to diagnosed learning disabilities but I eventually went on to graduate from a highly ranked University with highest honors. From the bottom of my heart thank you.

I LOVED Reading Rainbow and Levar growing up and still treasure Reading Rainbow today, just like I enjoy Jeopardy. I am so glad Jeopardy got Levar to guest host. He did excellent! I am not surprised at his charity! I am glad his charity is benefitting from him guest hosting!

This man is a NATIONAL TREASURE. NOT making him the permanent host would be one of the biggest mistakes this show could ever make.

@Will N Someone posted an interview with Rolf about how he got the job, he had never even seen wheel of fortune, wasn't really interested in doing TV (let alone host a game show) and was only given a couple of days notice. To be fair he got better but he wasnt prepared. Too bad Ken doesn't want to do it. Seems like it was implied they were prepping him to takeover for Alex.

As a huge fan of Star Trek. His personality is so similar to his character on the show. Just a downright nice guy. This is awesome!

After watching LeVar Burton the entire week, I concur with all the comments that I was able to read that he's the guy to host Jeopardy. My only "con" was I would jump whenever he would correspond with a shout to the correct answers. lol I would have to get use to it.
