I just got done watching Ken's first episode. He appeared to be holding back tears when making his respectful opening comments about taking over for Alex. The show went very smoothly. Well done, Ken.

@@misoliso6625 it’s a psychological thing. my mom taught me when I was younger that if a show has a host that everybody loves and dies, the first person to host after would be bombarded with stupid hate. i think that’s what’s going on here, but im not 100% sure.

Please make Ken permanent host! He was fantastic, and he captures the spirit of Alex so much more than any random celebrity ever could.

I am hoping Ken becomes the full-time host and they do not get a celebrity to do it. Jep is about normal people with great knowledge. Ken is a normal person just like the contestants with great knowledge and that is why he will make a great host.

The issue with having a celebrity host, $$$, and I just wonder how much the network is willing to shell out for a permanent celebrity host that’ll eventually need to be replaced. Also, I don’t know of any celebrity that’s anywhere near as intelligent as Alex was and knowledgeable, and that’s what you need, someone who understands the show, not someone who’s just handed a prescript of the answers and just asks the questions. You need someone like Ken Jennings, he’s the best option in my opinion.

I'd prefer a local news host or a sports radio type of guy with no national profile. They need to bring some gravitas to the role, be comfortable on camera, have a commanding presence, be funny when the situation calls for it, be intelligent, etc. That way they can grow into the role and be the next "Jeopardy host". No Katie Courics or Steve Harveys please.

Keep in mind that Johnny Gilbert, the announcer, was also with Alex Trebek since day one and he's still there. He's 96 years old!

I think he started announcing back when the first episode aired, in 1984. I really respect his dedication for being able to do the same thing for over 3 1/2 decades and not get burnt out. Even more impressive that he’s only made a mistake in 2 shows out of the over 8,300 he’s announced

@@MizterB sometime in season 16 (so over 20 years ago) when he called Alex “Glenn Trebek” since Glenn Kagan was the guy who did the mock games before the show back then

I think I like Ken enough to see him become the official host of Jeopardy now. I think he is truly the best person to fit the incredible legacy Alex left behind.

I wish Ken all the best, he certainly earned his position. I remember when Alex replaced Arthur Fleming. Not everyone liked Alex. I recall a lot of negative feedback. Fleming had a unique style (like Alex) and he quickly became Jeopardy in the hearts and minds of millions. Alex was totally different and at first it seemed that the game show was in trouble. Two or three years later, it would have been difficult to find someone who didn't like him. The show will go on.

Oh man, this makes me so emotional. I gotta be honest, I’ve never been the biggest fan of Ken, but he seems to be approaching this realistically. He seems honored to do it and I hope he does a good job. Good luck, Ken!

As a child, I watched Art Fleming host the show; then, in 1984, Alex took over the reins. As much as I miss Alex, I hope Ken has found a new, permanent home on Jeopardy. Best of luck, Ken!👍🏻❤️ And God Rest Alex’s Soul.❤️😢

The wait is over. Ken Jennings is the new host of syndicated Jeopardy! Mayim Bialik is the official host of primetime Jeopardy!

I saw the first episode w/Jennings today, and have to say I thought he did pretty good. My ultimate hope is that Jennings is chosen as the new host over say like LeVar Burton, or whatever other celebrity guest hosts they were planning to use to fill in for later in season 37.

I'm excited to see Ken as host! In my opinion he'd be a great full-time host!

Ken Jennings has become permanent host!

The things that made Alex Trebek so good were his knowledge of each subject and his patter with each statement. What Ken Jennings reminded me of is when I first started teaching. I had been out of school for a couple of years and I got my first classes to teach. I immediately thought, "I have to teach this stuff? Yikes! I don't remember it." Then, I thought "What's the difference? I know more than they do anyway." So, I went in and began teaching. After 37 years I retired.

No one can replace Alex and we know that but The show must go on he he wanted Jeopardy to continue he also would be honored if Ken would be made the permanent host of Jeopardy Ken knows Jeopardy he makes the contestant feel welcome he has a great personality he's the only one in my opinion that can do the job and do it well we don't need any more people interviewing for guest host get Ken back as the permanent host of Jeopardy)

Ken hit it out of the ball park, warmth, depth and humility. An excellent first show.

Ken, you did a great job! I think it took a little of the shock away by having a familiar face.

Of all the names you could associate with Jeopardy, the only one that comes close to Alex Trebek is Ken Jennings. I hope he knows that we all love him, and even though we obviously miss Alex, we're glad to see a familiar face on the podium.

Everybody wanted for Ken Jennings to take over and then have the hosting position.

Great perspective, Ken! You can only be as good as YOU can be. Don’t worry about stacking up to Jeopardy’s “Alex The Great”. If only to honor his legacy, you give it all you have... and share the joy/experience with the contestants and the viewers. THANK YOU, Champion Jennings!

Ii just tried to imagine Johnny Gilbert saying "And now... the HOST of Jeopardy!... Ken Jennings!" and I just can't hear it in my head. I hope he does well, I'm sure he will, and it's true he's no Trebek, but I think the level of legitimacy he brings to the host podium will carry more weight than pretty much anyone else.

Ken Jennings knocked it out of the ball park. He kept me engaged very similarly to Alex. He's the inheritor to the throne. He's who I want on the show.

It is simply impossible for anyone to replace Mr Trebek, but Ken seems very enthusiastic/happy about his new job, and that is one of the most important qualities that i want to see in the future permanent host. As for how he'll do when hosting the show itself, we shall see.

Ken, you did a great job! Your opening remarks brought a tear to my eye. I’ve watched and been a huge fan of Jeopardy! and Alex for decades and can’t remember the show without him. Losing him was tough enough. I can’t imagine an actor, athlete, journalist or comedian taking over for our our beloved host. No offense intended, but I can’t imagine an actor, athlete, journalist or - goodness, no! - comedian at the lectern. I’m rooting for you to be the new host for so many reasons, but most of all, because of your performance as a contestant which brings a unique perspective that even Alex didn’t have, your love of the show and, mostly, your love and respect for Alex.

I know Ken won't be the permanent host of the show, but from his first two episodes, I'm beyond impressed! When you think of the show Jeopardy!, you think of two people, Alex Trebek and Ken Jennings (James Holzhauer as an honorable mention). He has done a great job at filling in and the show still has the same sort of feel as it did when Alex was hosting.

Beautiful job last night. Ken is a class act.

I love Ken Jennings, his cute,adorable, humble,and a funny guy. Not sure who will ever replace Alex Trebeck,but so far Ken has a done a really good job.

Its going to be REALLY strange seeing someone other than Alex walk out there after 36 years. After him, there's no one I associate more with Jeopardy than Ken and I wish him the very best. I think Alex would be happy to see him up there.

Ken has done a nice job on his first 2 shows. His wife's advice was VERY good. He has to be himself, and he will master the host role, too. Alex was fabulous, everyone will miss him, but the game and its contestants are king. His love of Jeopardy will bode well for Ken, too!
